Let's not forget that it was St Reagan that got this debt ball rolling back in the '80s.

Right after a nice juicy tax cut for the billionaires.

Nonsense. There is nothing in definition of any economic theory about any particular country's doings.
I didn't say anything about a "country" doing anything...A "country" is an inanimate abstraction.

Only people can act...And economic central control, whether or not being practiced under the rubric of a nation-state, always -yes, I said always- fails in the end.

Keynesianism is just communism with a few extra steps.
....let me rephrase it for you, so you can maybe understand this simple idea:

There is nothing in definition of any economic theory about any particular people's doings.

Just because America consistently refuses to fix it's long term solvency problem, does not mean that Keynsian economic theory is fiscally irresponsible. It just means America is not a very good practitioner of that particular economic theory (primarily because we have an insidious tax-cut cult on the Republican side).
And you want America to trust your party with Free Healthcare, Free College, Free Guaranteed Income?
What the fuck? Any other brain farts to share?
Why should we trust you with a $100 Trillion Dollar Free Shit & New Green Scam Package your politicians in your party are Bribing Voters with?
What is wrong with helping the environment?

Trillions in tax cuts for billionaires is the ultimate form of socialism. Talk about “free stuff“. To be able to use the infrastructure of an entire country and just rape money from that country. It’s so anti-American and such a disgrace.
Unfortunately, this is who the Republican Party has become.
how is allowing one to keep more of what one earned socialism?
Socialism is giving to those that didn't earn it

you ignorant liberals believe the government has ownership to all that you earned and by their good graces allow you to keep some of it

Socialists are nothing without their economic illiteracy.
One of the things I miss about leaving the libertarian circles is the old debates between them, the ancaps, the monarchists, the minarchists and the anarchists.

Those were the best debates/discussions I've ever been in or observed out in the wild. Mainly because they were all smart enough to know what each other were talking about or debating.

And not one of em would budge on their position. Goshed darn hard heads, all of em. lol.
I keep going between ancap and agorist...The big "L" libertarian/minarchist camp no longer held my interest when I finally came to the logical conclusion that gubmint will never ever remain limited and in its box.
I know a couple agorists. I can't find much I disagree with them about. Though, I do think the state is ultimately inevitable. Never was in the big L camp.

What the fuck does any of what you just said have to do with what you quoted?

NOTHING is the answer. Please stfu and stop poluting the thread.
The Topic Is SOCIALISM, and SOCIALISM comes with a PRICE.

Why should I fork over $100 Trillion dollars, my future, my children's future and grandchildren and their children's future to pay for The New Green Scam and Free Shit for Slackers?

Why should we allow The Left to Enslave America and place us all in Chains of Economic Servitude to The State?

So you think law enforcement is socialism????:cuckoo:
If government finances it by involuntary taking money from me OF COURSE it is an example of socialist arrangement.

Socialist solution of central planned public funding works in many areas of our economy.

Socialism comes with a price. That Price is Economic Freedom.
The cost of Reparations, Guaranteed Income, Free Healthcare, The New Green Scam, Free College is $100 Trillion Dollars.

Sell us on the idea of why Enslaving The American People with Economic Servitude to The State to implement The Socialist Agenda is a good idea.

Are you incapable of selling your product to The Taxpayer?

Keeping the peace is a social END, while economic theory describes the actual MEANS of how it is done - you seem to not understand the difference.

We COULD have a capitalist solution of privatized police, but of course that would be sub-optimal means to keep the peace.

You see, we are still a capitalist nation.
Nope. We're a Keynesian nation.

The article's author over there clearly lacks a grasp of economic theory and monetary policy both.
Bullshit, Keynesian nation would pay down the debts in good economic times.

Keynes has consistently called for long term solvency.
What they're supposed to do and end up doing nearly always end up being vastly different...
Who is "they"? Keynes is long dead and Keynesian economic theory is not hinged on what politicians actually do.
All economic theory is based upon what humans -which includes politicians- do....Keynesian theory relies upon economic central control, which is the realm of politicians.....It's a shit show as a matter of course.

Like all the other fanciful fantasies of socialist Utopia, it all comes crashing down when you introduce the element of capricious, ignorant, and outright greedy humans.
Good capitalists make money not lose money on public policies.

Socialism is taxpayer funds being used collectively to benefit society as a whole, despite income, contribution, or ability.

Sounds horrible, huh?

Well I hate to be the one to tell you, but Socialism, which you have been told to fear all your life, is responsible for all this...

1. The Military/Defense - The United States military is the largest and most funded socialist program in the world. It operates thanks to our taxpayer dollars and protects the country as a whole. From the richest citizens to the homeless who sleep under the bridge. We are all protected by our military whether we pay taxes or not. This is complete socialism.

2. Highways/Roads - Those roads and highways you drive on every single day are completely taxpayer funded. Your tax dollars are used to maintain, expand, and preserve our highways and roads for every one's use. President Eisenhower was inspired by Germany's autobahn and implemented the idea right here in America. That's right, a republican president created our taxpayer funded, national highway system. This was a different time, before the republican party came down with a vicious case of rabies that never went away.

3. Public Libraries - Yes. That place where you go to check out books from conservative authors telling you how horrible socialism is, is in fact socialism. Libraries are taxpayer funded. You pay a few bucks to get a library card and you can read books for free for the rest of your life.

4. Police - Ever had a situation where you had to call the police? Then you have used a taxpayer funded socialist program. Anyone can call the police whether they pay taxes or not. They are there to protect and serve the community, not individuals. This is complete socialism on a state level, but still socialism all the same. Would you rather have to swipe your credit card before the police will help you?

5. Fire Dept. - Hopefully you have never had a fire in your home. But if you have, you probably called your local taxpayer-funded fire department to put the fire out. Like police, this is state socialism. You tax dollars are used to rescue your entire community in case of a fire. It use to be set up where you would pay a fee every month to the fire dept. for their service. If you didn't pay, they let your house burn down. Sadly, a man from Tennessee had this exact situation happen to him in 2011 because he didn't pay his $75.00 fee. I guess that small town in Tennessee would rather let people's houses burn down that resort to evil socialism. So don't take for granted the fact that you have a 24/7 fire dept. to put out your burning home thanks to socialism.

What the hell is wrong with a little socialism? We live with it. It's all around us. It has made our lives better. It's called Democratic Socialism.

Of course none of those are examples of Socialism.

No I don't, not in any meaningful way. I have a say in what I finance. The descisions here are that of government I have little to no control over as an individual.

Yes. We have a Second Amendment and should have no security problems in our free States.
