I just had this one poster (can't remember what topic) tell me, after I suggested a website he could go to in order to learn about Catholicism:

"I'll stick to following Jesus"

It's the usual way Protestants I have encountered over the years interact with Catholics who adhere to their Faith: Insult them (by insinuating that they are following Christ and you, you disgusting Catholic, are not.)

I just can't believe some of the rot I hear from some of these posters... I mean, it kind of blows me away, the closed-minded-ness... the lack of interest in Church history OR Church teachings. They don't investigate Catholicism... and yet try to come across like they are experts on it.

Well, one thing I can do is use the great feature here: Ignore. Why should I be the least bit bothered that they do this kind of thing?

If they want to end up in Hell for rejecting Christ's TRUE Church (again, NO LONGER @ the Vatican), that is on them. I've done my part.

/----/ I grew up Catholic in the Bible Belt. Most treated me like a Christian, but some swore the Baptist Church was the original church of Christ and Catholics broke away to form a cult. There was no reasoning with them.
And no, we don't worship statues.

As an RC myself I frankly don't give a damn about what SOME prods say about us.

I literally laughed out loud reading about how those Baptists said they were the original church. They would REALLY hate me because I have studied my Faith and the history of it (and history in general). They would hate me because they could not refute anything I would say...

amazing the IGNORANCE in our world on all kinds of topics. . All Protestant religions go back to (at best) the Father of Protestantism Martin Luther

who broke with the Church in 1521

So what was Jesus doing for 1521 years? He said to Peter and the 12 that He would build His Church which the very gates of Hell would not prevail against (Mt 1618)

But protesters would have us believe there was... what? No Church until Luther-- egregious sinner and fallen Catholic priest-- arrived on the scene?

Geez...

Somehow, that just doesn't sound like Jesus (to procrastinate like that)

I'm there myself!

I would feel bad totally ignoring them because the Original Church teaches no one can be saved outside of it... which makes sense because Jesus founded that Church. To not be in His Church is to not be with HIM (in the way HE wants/requires).

And they claim to love Jesus so much... apparently not?

/----/ A friend in high school declared that unless you attended the First Baptist Church in Greenville, SC, you were condemned to hell damnation. That's right, billions of people going back eons long before that church was formed were going to hell.
And he was the nicest guy you ever wanted to meet, a track star, and would help you out any way he could. He carried a bible everywhere he went.

Yeh, sometimes it's hard not to LOL at some of these protesters. It's not their fault, though... well, at least it isn't their fault when they are young and impressionable. But once they reach the age of, say, 35 or so, I mean, you know... People DO wonder about the original Church. The thing is, they don't follow through on their wondering, by doing research. I can tell that every single "religious" person here is totally ignorant of TRUE Catholicism.

That's not terribly hard to believe because most Catholics do not know certain important things either... like what all happened around the time of Vatican II.

Have you ever been to Most Holy Family Monastery website? They are the only ones I know of who know what really happened concerning Vatican II (and they go back further than that also) and document it all with FACTS and papal encyclicals and other sacred documents including of course the Bible... The most reliable Bible ever, the Douay Rheims.

The door is always open.

Catholic or not

He loves everyone. Too bad everyone does not reciprocate :(

'The Catholic church has accepted Darwinian evolution and that has to mean that it no longer accepts creation.

Catholics are permitted by their church to believe the Holy Bible is not the true word of God, but is instead just allegorical lies.

If I wasn't an atheist I would be offended by the Catholic beliefs and would see them as Satanic.

But I am an atheist and so understand that the CC is trying to concoct beliefs that can be acceptable to modern and more intelligent people than the indoctrinated who believe impossible myths of christianity.

Is it somehow wrong and sinful for Catholics to try to invent new stories in their bibles that 'work'?

Is Ding sinning when he pronounces Jonah and his big fish story to be lies from the god?

Is he sinning when he says the same about the big flood and the make believe ark?

I knew a bloke at Uni who was a Plymouth Brethren. He was in our Bible Study and he was a great bloke. Wasn't any animosity towards ANY individual and they were a good mob. It's when it becomes "political" I just close shop. I just think about the cages above the Cathedral Spires then. (Oh I am awful).

You need to read Karl Popper.

Stay on topic. I only need to know if Protestants condemn the Catholics for backsliding on believing bible stories that Protestants still accept as the word of the god.

Or, are Protestants already backsliding too?

You're always free to invent your own fake news!

So, aren't you doing the very same thing the Protestants are doing when you attack the Roman Catholic Church at the Vatican? Yep, you are. A Catholic girl once to me, a LDS, "May God teach you patience."
