Since Jan 20, 2025, Democrats / liberals / leftist have demonstrated they are -more- than comfortable with political violence, and are maybe 20-30 minutes away from taking it to the streets at the wholesale level. As these domestic terrorists always travel in packs - Burning and Looting Mobs,, as it were - I need an AR15 to deal with the threat they pose to my person, my family, and my property.

We on the right thank you for the clarity your actions bring to the gun control debate; we now know why (as if there was ever a question) you have always been so keen to ban these weapons from private possession.

I need one because car-jackers, home invaders, and other criminals are often already armed with one. Except I opted for a new American-manufactured AKM in 2016, when there was the possibility of Hillary giving us another ban. Besides, I already had a shit-ton of 7.72x39 from my SKS days, back when Russian and Chinese ammo was cheap.

I doesn't group like 5.56mm in an AR platform, but a 4" group at 100 yards from a sandbag rest means it does what it was designed to do: A man-sized target at 100 meters.

AR-15's are fine, but I prefer 7.62X51 NATO. Turns cover into concealment, and has been for 75 years!

Nice! In all honesty, if I went 5.56 I'd likely pursue a Steyr AUG if I could afford one.

My uncle had a Steyr-made 8mm Mauser.

Steyr didn't make the AK, Maadi in Egypt did. They used the original Soviet tooling for the AK-47 so it was as close as you could get to the real deal for a long time.

When they first were brought in they had a limited supply of ammo, so reloading was essential for many years.
