In that contest your statement makes perfect sense since handguns are very good for personal defense.
Still, I'm not comfortable with government having absolute power over the population. Too many bad corrupt players in high places.

I opted for the Burris 3X instead of a red dot.....The stock sort of lends itself to a scope and I had it laying around.

Yeah, a 2-4x optic is a good compromise. Red dots cover too much of the target at 200-300yds.
