Why do Democrats keep voting for Democrats?

I am perplexed why Democrats, especially in Blue cities/states, keep voting for Democrat politicians. I can understand this if they think things are really going well in these areas, but I don't think that is the case with most of them. Instead, they seem to acknowledge that things are going to hell, but only vote for Republicans when they are at the Devil's front door.

Same reasons why someone would vote Republican.

Maybe they are more ideologically aligned with the Democrats' approach.

Maybe they are repulsed by the alternative choice.

I think you think you’ve said something profound and revolutionary.
I think sane voters KNOW there has never been and never will be a perfect candidate. I think voters have always voted for the candidate that A. has a chance at winning and B. best aligns with their desires.

Just look at those kids on college campus who get tossed out of left leaning organizations for even thinking about talking to a Conservative, but any democrat can walk into Turning Point USA campus office and be welcomed.

Every democrat I voted for...I would vote for again--same with the republicans I have voted for.

What you see (if you were to look) is that the GOP cannot reckon having voted for Dick Cheney for VP; you saw that in the comments this week with Cheney’s passing. You read it over and over with the disavowance (if that is the word) of Bush Sr, Bush Jr, Reagan, etc.... Beyond candidates, you also see it in the rhetoric. One of the silly things we see from MAGA is that they like that Trump “hasn’t started any wars”...yet when he starts blowing ships out of the water and threatens to invide Nigeria....there isn’t as much as a whimper from his supporters.
