Why didn't Republicans give trump an infrastructure bill?

Why didn't Republicans give trump an infrastructure bill?

Because it was fallacious campaign rhetoric to begin with…

You're peeing down your own leg and claiming it's raining...

Donald Trump campaigned on a $1 trillion infrastructure plan. “We are going to fix our inner cities and rebuild our highways, bridges, tunnels, airports, schools, hospitals,” he said in his 2016 election night victory speech. “And we will put millions of our people to work as we rebuild it.”

trump wanted an infrastructure bill, but the Republicans who ran both the House and Senate during the early days of the trump administration met trump's request with silence.

All Republicans gave trump was tax cuts for the rich and a gutting of the IRS.

Why didn't Republicans give trump an infrastructure plan like Joe's?
Actually, Trump had a $2 trillion infrastructure deal worked out with the Democrats. A much more expensive bill than Biden's.

Then he got all huffy over the Mueller investigation and left the infrastructure bill on the table out of spite.

Trump has never put America first. It's all about him.

Pelosi held it hostage, cuz, you know her multimillionaire ass really does care about you?

Faux Joe plagiarized much of the infrastructure bill that was Trump's and then added massive pork to it.

I am referring to you and you alone...

It seems Trump “peed down his own leg”…

Negotiate? Are you now claiming the Pelosi tried to negotiate with Trump? How dare you lie so bare faced.

She tried to but you can't negotiate with a crazy person who acts like a 5 yr old.

Professional lifer politicians arent interested in any porkless bill. Real infrastructure is of no interest to those looking for handouts.

It's hard to fathom the level of gullibility and stupidity that views social spending as a "handout". This is the result of the right wing propaganda campaign waged by the Republican Party since Ronald Reagan was elected.

Reagan demonized the war on poverty because it was creating a healthy and thriving black middle class. Minorities were not only joining the middle class at the highest numbers in history, but they were also running for office, and getting political power.

Reagan promoted the image of "welfare queens", and people taking advantage of hard working white Americans as an excuse to cut programs that really were eliminating the causes of poverty in America. But mostly he embraced the teachings of Milton Friedman that social programs were a drag on capitalism. Friedman theorized that, freed of government imposed regulation of wages and prices, both would find their "natural" levels which would ensure prosperity for all those who worked hard and contributed to the economy.
Deregulation and privatization were all the rage. Friedman's "capitalism on steroids" policies were adopted by the IMF and the World Bank and imposed on governments in Central and South America, South Africa, Poland, and Russia. All with disastrous results. None of these economies thrived. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. Wages dropped, prices rose, and with no social safety net, the poor suffered.

The same thing happened in the USA, but at a slower pace because Reagan refused to gut Social Security, Medicaid, or other social safety net protections. But Reagan did demonize them as "free stuff". Wages stagnated, poverty increased, and the wealth of the nation began to trickle up.

Around the world, the IMF and the World Bank enforced Friedman's "free market capitalism" as the economic model to follow, and in every jurisdiction, it created poverty and political instability. The people tried electing leftist governments but lacked both the skill or the resources to reverse the damage caused, and right wingers consistently blamed the "communists" for their economic woes.

In South Africa, those rewriting their constitution in the wake of Apartheid, paid more attention to voting rights than the economic models the IMF wrote into the document, and the same thing happened in Poland. In South America, the destruction of the leftist government, included murdering or "disappeared" lawyers, university professors and leftist leaders. It was done openly to terrorize the movement into silence.

So now you have the Democrats, trying to undo the damage of 40 years of Milton Friedman's destructive economic policies have done to the working and middle class of the USA, and the right wingers, are fomenting a civil war to retain your steady slide into bankruptcy.

It boggles the mind.

Because Republican leadership in Congress sucks ass.

Not just in Congress, Bucko. As long as the Republican Party follows a lawless criminal like Donald Trump, the country is in the toilet and the waters are swirling.

You need two healthy political parties. This week Mitch McConnell abandoned the idea of a "Republican Agenda" or a "Republican Platform". The party is offering you nothing but opposition to Joe Biden, and fealty to Donald Trump.

That's not a viable political party at all.

Everything's a mess because WE wont demand that both party's clean up there act & start working for us instead of working to keep their party in power. This blind devotion to party over country is hurting All of us.
