Why Did John Deere Bow Down To Communist-Socialists??

Because it is socialism to try and improve your pay and conditions ?

The far right on this board believes that the United States is a communist nation.

They seem to believe that capitalism is communism.

This is a case of a private company negotiating with their employees for a contract.

Basically a contract between two private groups.

I don't know how the far right can believe that negotiations between two private groups can be communism.

Apparently to them anything they disagree with is either communism or socialism.

The truth of the matter is that the employees did what the far right demanded employees do.

Not allow the government to get involved and negotiated a contract themselves with the private employer.

What it comes down to is that the republicans hate the working class in our nation. They will do all they can to keep them in low wage jobs without any benefits so that the employee is forced to go on public assistance so that the executives and stockholders can keep paying those low wages without any benefits.

When the working class asks the government to raise minimum wage, to create better working condition laws and better equality at work, the republicans say that it's not up to the government to do that. That it is up to the employee to negotiate for better pay, benefits and working conditions.

So workers do just that. They come together to negotiate a contract with the employer.

They basically do exactly what the republicans demand.

The republicans scream communism or socialism even though the government has absolutely nothing to do with any of it.

The hypocrisy, lies and corruption of the republicans is disgusting.

Its truly bizarre and not just an American phenomenon.

Every conservative organisation is comprised of 2 distinct groups. Millionaires and stupid people. The stupid people do all that they can to protect the status of the millionaires.
Even if it is against their better interests.

You would expect a group of workers looking to better their lot to get support from the right but it is against the interests of the Millionaire class.

On other threads they whine about women being unable to be stay at home wives like in the "good old days". But still argue against developments that may actually allow this.

They are perverse people.

You'd of made more money pushing your tamale cart in the EU
No as a personal financial and small business professional counseling these people and entities to better utilize their finite dollars coming in.

Let's say I show people how to use 5 dollars and get 20 dollars in quality and value instead of waste

Believe it or not I've done financial work for tamale cart pushers. Pretty damned good money for 4 hours a day and working for yourself pushing high fartable combustibles

Now don't you look so foolish now Ethel?

Well Tammy. If one enjoys being ordered what time they have to go to work. Enjoy slaving to a sob with a thumb up your ass for 50 yrs. Dreaming what you might have been. Dying a year after retirement with a pitiful pittance to exist. Go for it!

Why do right wing authoritarians want to proscribe a way of life for others ? There are many different routes to a happy life. You do understand that dont you ?

If you love what you do so much for a living, you never worked an hour in your life.

Life becomes one big hobby there Tommy darlin

I'm glad you were able to help out your fellow tamale cart owners. Maybe you should have discussed with the group about starting your own union.

"Deere & Co. workers approved a new contract Wednesday that will deliver 10% raises immediately and end a monthlong strike by more than 10,000 employees. Deere workers - and other unions - have been emboldened to ask for more this year because of the ongoing worker shortages and because workers didn't always feel appreciated while working long hours during the pandemic.

In addition to the initial raises, this week's offer kept the 5% raises -- $8,500 ratification bonus, preserve a pension option for new employees, make workers eligible for health insurance sooner and maintain their no-premium health insurance coverage. The workers had been holding out for more from Deere, which has predicted it will report record annual profits between $5.7 billion and $5.9 billion when it releases its earnings report later this month."

This is very troubling....too many workers are feeling entitled to wages and benefits they don't deserve and didn't earn.....$8500 bonus?? No healthcare premiums? WTF? These people are talking about they don't feel appreciated...You have a job, be thankful for that...because under Biden's economy, millions have lost their jobs...but these workers are becoming more and more of a problem-- or at least these unions are...

The company didn't even make more than 6 billion in profits last year; and these these workers have the audacity to ask for more? What needs to happen in this country is a swinging of the pendulum to put this labor force back in check....maybe the wealth-class, the major shareholders and investors, maybe they need to strike this time...this system has been rigged against them for far too long.......it's time that they impose the much needed austerity cuts on all of these entitled workers....this strike is nothing more but a communist-styled redistribution of wealth from the rightful owners to the undeserving lazy working class... I am not saying all workers; because some of these union members didn't even want more; they were happy for what their employers gave them...These unions are the problem and its time that they are outlawed..
Not sure. The paradigm should be, socialism is Good for socializing costs.

The fact is most people are sandwiched between the private side and public side and they take all the slings and arrows pushed in their direction. People handle it differently as we see.

There is a lot more then that. There is a supply chain. There multiple levels of getting the final product Africa needs your advice just to start. We do to and we have a supply chain not being used to maximum efficiency for some reason.

What is your opinion of simply upgrading port hardware to start; we should observe economies of scale soonest.

Their beliefs are ones of convenience.

What is convenient for them at the time.

Their only real belief is that anyone who doesn't agree with them is their enemy and must be destroyed.

Yes.

Business is big on capitalism when they are making money.

When they lose money they quickly become socialists and run to us taxpayers for their socialism to bail their butts out.

The usual loons are struggling with this thread.
They cannot get their heads around the fact that people , working collectively, will strive for better conditions FOR SOMEONE ELSE.

What do these people want ?

The company can afford to pay 10 percent more now but couldn't before. I put 100 percent of all blame on the employer here. You want people to work then pay them. This is a victory for labor. Long long long long overdue. No thought for the employer here. You could always shut it down.

Socializing costs is what socialism is good for.

Why not upgrade (Post) port hardware to the latest version in order to achieve best economies of scale until the rest of the port can be upgraded?

Progs do not purchase American made products that are deemed inferior. Check statistics from 4 decades ago to now. Purchase a Toyota Corolla or Chevy Chevette. We know.

LMAO. I will visit the John Deere factory instead. Its working great there. Workers defending the rights of future employees is awesome. People at their best.
Enjoy Iowa...I'm sure they'll love you...as long as you don't open your mouth and ruin it.

Keep in mind...many of these Midwest union employees voted for Trump.

Spoken like a true hateful little proletariat.

Capitalism also means you don't have to use your brain and think of or worry about actually providing a marketable product or service. In fact, you don't really need to think about much. You simply do as you are instructed and you always get paid for work you do. But if the market shifts or the business doesn't take off, you still get paid for the work you do, and I lose everything even after investing thousands of hours and money into the very business that gave you a fucking job.

You know what helps workers? Not competing with illegal labor.
:dunno:

Spoken like a narcissistic jerk.

When business goes south, workers are laid off long before the business owner take any losses.

Only in small businesses where the owners are (like yourself) narcissistic jerks and worker's intelligence not respected by the business owners. The vast majority of workers are hired for their knowledge, abilities and skills. In most businesses, owners and executives rely 100% on the information and analysis of their employees. They retain the final decision-making authority, but that's mostly no-brainer decisions because the employees have done all the work.

When business is good the employees get no benefit, yet when business is bad they get laid off.

You know what helps workers? Pay raises, bonuses and profit sharing.
