God put it in His book...How do we know this?
Who gathered and canonized all that is in the book?God put it in His book...
(To summarize what the very cautious and trying not to offend anyone AI carefully presents)church
That fits the Sky Father mythology. Not exactly, but an interesting observation all the same. When a king left a steward in charge, he bestowed all his authority on him and the steward was to be responsible for all things. The steward was also commanded to be as a father, not a despot. Are you aware the word Pope is derived from the Italian word 'Papa'. The welfare of the King's kingdom rests on his steward's shoulders. He also, in the king's absence, has the authority to rule.
Where it is a bad fit is I cannot think of a mythological god that said he was going away so he was going to appoint an earthly human to take over his duties. Atlas (as 'Sky Father') is a good example. His duty is to hold up the sky. Has he ever appointed a human being as steward, to hold up the sky while he is gone? That fits the Sky Father mythology.
the fully divine wasn't debated until 300 ADJesus has two natures: Both fully human and fully divine.
Why is that?the fully divine wasn't debated until 300 AD
- how would we know all Jesus' accomplished.
What do you mean, "come to earth"? I was told he was born here. Why did Jesus come to earth?
he is an alien being.....What do you mean, "come to earth"? I was told he was born here.
Jesus wished to establish the Kingdom of God on earth. Knowing he would be gone for an indefinite length of time, he appointed a steward, just as kings of old did when they would be away. Isaiah relates how this was done: The keys were given to the steward, which symbolized his authority, and the steward was described as a father figure to the people.
And, without the Church all of that would have been forgotten. Are you aware that Jesus spent the greater percentage of his ministry within a five mile radius? Yet his life and teachings are now known throughout the world. This wouldn't have happened without Jesus building the Church. Why did Jesus come to earth?
1. Foremost, Jesus came to earth to work out the atonement and resurrection. The resurrection is a salvation given to every person born on this earth. All mankind will overcome death and be resurrected thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The atoning sacrifice was done so that man, if he so chooses, can gain salvation in the kingdom of heaven. But this requires each individual to accept Jesus as the Christ and repent and forsake their sins. This is why Jesus taught, "repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand". If you want a better life in the hereafter, then live a better life here on this earth.
3. Jesus also came to this earth to show us how better to live so that we might obtain the kingdom of heaven. He set the example of how we should all conduct our lives and give praise and honor to our Father in Heaven.
Yes. The Word of God (Jesus) came to earth in the usual way. What do you mean, "come to earth"? I was told he was born here.
Did Jesus start a church? Looks to me like the Romans did.One of the homilies I listened to today said:
Jesus came to establish a Church.
After automatically thinking, "No. Jesus came...." (a list of reasons), consider without the Church, how would we know all Jesus' accomplished. Was Jesus establishing a Church (upon this rock I will build my Church) foremost in God's planning?
I'm sorry luiza, but we can't have a conversation about Church when your understanding is limited to the Fairy Tale level. I love fairy tales myself, and you and I could probably have a great conversation about regarding ethics inbuilt into them, but this thread is about Church. A great way to expand your knowledge is to step up and read philosophy. You may not be ready for that, so be patient, because one has to do a little growing up before philosophy is as interesting as fairy tales. Good luck! After reading that reply I suspect that the best course of action is to let you and others who might believe that type of Fairy Tale stay alone and helped whenever possible .
It will take many incarnations before you start to awaken, but as long as you and your ilk remain relatively quiet and outside of the real world , you are best left in splendid isolation .
P.S.
Any record of the meeting between God and Jesus where this plot was hatched ?
Or did Jesus ( technically not yet even incarnate) rebel against his future Dad ?
Does that back to front sequence of events prove Time Travel?
Or , just imagined garbage?
That was only one of the reasons He came to earth. The first, primary and most important reason was to open, once and for all, the way to the Father through His death and resurrection. One of the homilies I listened to today said:
Jesus came to establish a Church.

You must have skipped past the the first chapters. The story of Jesus' ministry begins in Galilee. The birthplace of the Church takes place in Jerusalem when the holy Spirit descends upon the assembly Jesus had gathered in Galilee. From there it takes a few decades before the setting reaches Rome, which at that time was known as the world's hub.Did Jesus start a church? Looks to me like the Romans did.
