A first strike for Israel with nukes doesn't work due to the size of Iran and its population dispersion.

Only preventing them from getting nukes in the first place works.

Once Iran has them, they couldn't guarantee getting all of them in a first strike, and if 3-4 make it to Israel, game over for the Israelis.

The distances involved also cause an issue, as your warning systems don't have the 1/2 hour to figure things out a US Russia/China exchange has.

They are able to decide if they need a nuclear weapon or not. Just because the Israeli prime minister feels that they should not have a nuclear weapon is not a good enough reason. The thing with Iran is, they are an enemy of most western countries. That is the only reason why this is happening. Doesn’t necessarily have much to do with Israel.
