Why Conservatives Hate Free Speech

Cool, and I’m free to deny them my approval or my agreement of their opinion, and they are feee to **** right off.

No I won’t agree with them, or approve, or celebrate it, or even pretend to, nor will it bake the cake.

Freedom to is freedom from.

Doesn't matter about your approval or agreement.

What matters is the LAW.

FREEDOM means the government does not prevent you from doing things. So, the government doesn't prevent you from getting married to a consenting adult.

That's FREEDOM.

I take it that you, as a conservative, don't like FREEDOM.

Ah as a Nationalist I value freedom highly, more so then then law. The myth that the law is the highest standard or say is merely you making a False God out of the state, how sad.

You "value freedom highly" and yet you post that you want to take freedom away from people you disagree with.

Right....

The benefit of compartmentalised thinking. 'Me' - 'Thee'.

Another Trump anti-free speech.

Stopping foreign journalists who ask questions he doesn't like from getting visas.

He's clearly jealous of China.

The conservative movement has spent the days following the shocking murder of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk attacking a bedrock American value: free speech.

In the most high-profile incident, the Federal Communications Commission pressured ABC parent The Walt Disney Company to sideline talk show host Jimmy Kimmel after he made a joke mocking President Donald Trump’s response to Kirk’s death. This followed CBS canceling ā€œThe Late Show with Stephen Colbertā€ shortly after the network paid a $16 million settlement to President Donald Trump over how ā€œ60 Minutesā€ edited an interview with Kamala Harris.

Vice President JD Vance and senior White House aide Stephen Miller have argued that a crackdown on left-of-center groups is necessary to stop people from telling the truth about what a bigot and conspiracy theorist Kirk was.

To give cover to their war on speech, conservatives have declared nearly everything they oppose politically as ā€œwoke,ā€ and then pushed for the removal of ā€œwokeā€ things— including speech and diversity—from public and private institutions and individuals.

Conservatism has a serious problem when it comes to competing in an open war of ideas. Many conservative priorities, like racism and economic policies bent around the desires of the ultra-wealthy, are not popular with the public at large. To allow an open exchange of ideas is to allow for the chance that liberalism and the Democratic Party might succeed.

Good article, but the author could have just said they are all scared little snowflakes, and saved bandwidth.

Christianists are the worst.
Retards with no brains are the worst

You have as much free speech as you have ever had, and employers have the same right to fire you if you endanger their business, by being a scumbag, in most states they can fire you for no reason, or in these cases, for not being a decent human being! Sit and spin!

Wasn't the murder of Charlie Kirk an attack on free speech?

All the garbage being spewed because the party of Lincoln believe it is wholly improper to celebrate assassination.
The refusal of the left to see is monumental.

What you mistakenly call liberalism in America today evolved into fascism long ago. The left is vehemently opposed to nonconformists, openly advocated and employed whatever means possible to quell and shutdown dissent. Claiming the compassionate moral high ground only to be exposed to be nothing more than very name they call their political adversaries, true fascists.
