Yes, there was a coup. Obama got it going, against Trump. Visitors to the Capitol were not there to riot. They were fired on by cops and wanted to escape is all.

In all seriousness, I don't think many of them know. I really don't know if many of them understand how an intelligent, dignified, competent adult acts and communicates in a professional setting. Their humor is lowbrow, with vulgar insults and feces jokes getting big laughs. There is little critical thinking that might help them identify dishonesty or incompetence.

And as always, there are people across the political spectrum who see this, including many horrified, embarrassed conservatives.
