Why are leftists crying about the student loan “burden” and not the car loan “burden”?

Adults, both college grads and non-college grads, have car loans. So why are leftists crying about student loan payments - “waaaa…..they’re being crushed” by having to repay their debt. - and nary a word about car loans, which is actually MORE, on average, than a student loan?

IOW, why are leftists crying that college-educated professionals need debt relief, to be paid for by other people, and yet shrug their shoulders over the car loans that high school grads struggle to pay? After all, they all knowingly borrowed money and agreed to pay it back.

Two things, democrats are buying votes and they want to put the money towards institutions that program students for the Left.

They are just paying it forward for the reeducation camps.

It's easy. They are targeting younger people in an attempt to buy votes. They don't care about highschool kids with car payments because they on the average can't vote.

The past 10 years our society has slowly been sliding towards catering to young people and it's really ramped up in the last 2 years. Even companies now use young people to advertise everything to the point where I constantly see young people in commercials everywhere, even if it makes no sense. Mobile phone commercial? Yeah let's just have some 22 year old dance for 25 seconds and call it a day. Lexus cars most kids can't afford? Yeah let's show kids having adventures in one. Tv shows and movies being remade with young people. Let's design stores around young people and so on.

Were being built around catering to kids and politics is no different. Politicians want to tell young people they are special and deserve everything handed to them and that they deserve special attention and tell them they know everything. Progressive and Democrats in particular push this hard in an attempt to get their votes.

Some like say Bernie Sanders has built his career the last few years on telling young people they deserve like 80k a year for pouring coffee at Starbucks, they need to unionize so they get better pay and benefits for stocking shelves at Walmart, and basically just saying "20 years olds you deserve everything because you were born".

But what about me? I agreed to borrow money to buy my house and have to spend 40 years paying it back. I agreed to the terms and conditions for my car payments and credit card payments but I don't get anything?

Young people need to be smart enough and tough enough and savvy enough to make decisions and live with the consequences of them. They need to work and struggle to get what they want, that's how you become a strong, smart and responsible adult. This idea of "we should give them whatever they want " will just breed a generation of soft, weak willed pansy ass sissies.

However, an entitled 18-year old and their parents who take on a $200k loan to attend a private college three time zones away and major in some bullshit degree for which there is no market and now expect the US taxpayer to pick up the tab, is going to erode that backbone of the nation.

Keeping with the theme of an educated nation, what is more valuable to the nation is the 18 year old who goes to trade school and gets skills for which there is demand, the 18-year old who attends two year community college and then finishes up at a four year state university and ends up with a more manageable $50k loan and a degree for which there is job demand, or the 18-year old that enters the Military and gets skill sets from the Military and College tuition. These are the 18 year olds that represent the backbone of our nation. The $200K loan entitled one with the degree to nowhere will erode our nation.
