Why are Democrats and their supporters losing their minds over govt RIFS????

Then why are you bitching about people calling them in the middle of the ******* storm, sub-cretin?
You're confusing on the ground assistance, with warnings, which go out by phone, text, e-mail, emergency broadcasts, and other systems that warn people.
Apparently without a coordinator, all they did was send an SMS text.

Paul Yura, the Warning Coordination Meteorologist for the National Weather Service (NWS) Austin/San Antonio office, retired early due to budget cuts. He made this decision in April 2025, as part of a larger wave of retirements within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which oversees the NWS. His position involved coordinating weather warnings and ensuring they were effectively disseminated to the public.
Yura's retirement, along with other departures from the NWS, came as the agency faced personnel and budget cuts. The cuts were initiated under the Trump administration and affected various offices, including the one in Austin/San Antonio. The timing of Yura's retirement coincided with a period of significant weather events in Texas, including severe flooding. His position was not filled after his departure.

I'm confusing nothing.

FEMA doesn't show up until after the disaster has passed, and are a totally inept clown show when they finally do arrive....Better phone service will never ameliorate that.

Paul Yura, the warning coordination meteorologist at the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio office, has announced he has taken the early retirement offer as part of NOAA’s recent cuts to personnel and budget.

Yura has over 32 years experience, spending more than half of his career at the NWS Austin/San Antonio office. In the process, he gained tremendous experience understanding local weather patterns while ensuring timely warnings get disseminated to the public in a multitude of ways.

Didn't you see the new FEMA policy?
Instead of being able to call from your cell phone, you have to travel miles and miles to an emergency help center set up by the state, that FEMA will be present at.

And then they make you do 100 push-ups and provide your voter registration card.

Don't care.

FEMA needs to be abolished altogether, as the entirely worthless money pit it has been from day one.

They will no longer go door to door. So anybody with physical limitations, is now forced to travel if they want to get help.
And without enough people to answer the phone, those people won't have that option readily available.

Did you not see what just happened in texass?
I remember when Bush was in power and Katrina happened. Bush made no cuts yet was still blamed for not running FEMA correctly.

You simply can't win with the propaganda spin doctors cuz everything gonna be your fault, yo!!!

The media is so damned retarded and openly biased

You have a point.
People who live in Tornado alley, Hurricane alley, Flood zones, and Earthquake zones need to just move someplace safer.

Irrelevant drivel, from an irrelevant driveler.

Their neighbors get to them faster and are more helpful, than FEMA ever was on their best day.

Bush put a horse trainer in charge, who had no emergency management experience.

That's why Bush had to push Michael Brown aside, and put the head of the Coast Guard in charge.

Remember the commercial: Like a good neighbor, state farm is there.

Well state farm is out of the flood insurance business.
