If abortion were illegal it would increase the size the of the unpropertied, teeming horde. An excess of poor people would most likely provide more votes to the forces seeking to undo private property rights and redistribute the wealth.

I think that, if one were really looking at socialist theory through socialist eyes, abortion would be a great way for the government to control the demographics of the population. Even the founder of Planned Parenthood said as much.

But if one wants to redistribute the wealth by convincing voters to vote to redistribute the wealth it would benefit them to have lots of poor voters. There would be more poor voters if abortion were illegal.

I think serious communists would take both approaches in case one fails. It's obvious the left doesn't really care about population control, and that they want more poor person voters. This is why they won't close the border. Most people accept that dems won't close the borders because they want poor voters and the republicans won't close them because they want cheap labor, right?

I think a certain portion of the judicial branch is pretty close to this, definitely in certain issues. Why else isn't partial-birth abortion illegal now? The majority of the people support a ban on this, the Congress has passed the law several times, and now the courts are tossing it out. They have trumped the legislative process in this case, a small coup.

Oh, I've got them completely figured out, and for good reason.

Take black people for example. You don't want Americans who happen to be black to think of themselves as Americans who happen to be black. Instead, you want them to consider themselves displaced Africans, oppressed by the propertied, with no hope of ever getting ahead let alone of achieving even equality. If you can convince them to believe this, they will join your cause.

This is why the Civil Rights movement was infested with Communist agitators, and why the more militant elements of it received direct funding from the CPSU.
