What a comeback! Down 5-0 win 7-6
Reminded me of the 1955 All Star game. American League led 5-0, early in the game. Nationals slowly caught up, and tied it late in the game (just like this game.)

Then, the Nationals won it in the 10th inning, on a home run by Stan Musial.

I don't even watch All Star games anymore! It's normally a real joke of a contest even if entertaining! Kobe vs Jordan is probably the last I watched of any sport's "A.S.G.!" As a Senior, it's just me! :dunno: :meow::stir::nono::oops:

The Yankees had that type of "Super Athlete" before in Dave Winfield back in the 80's! He was a massive man that probably should have been an NFL Tight End, blocking downfield on runs! He was at least 6'6" & a mountain of a man w/ muscles bursting out of his uniform IIRC! :p ;):cool:
ARod was a beast too right?

Wild game 5. catcher interference! It’s all or nothing for the Yankees. Good series.
I’m glad the Yankees lost but now I wish they won last night so we could see a game 6

Or you could say the YANKEES LOST IT - by giving the Dodgers 5 UNEARNED RUNS, on a variety of defensive screwups. I lost count.

Yankee pitcher pitched a fine game. Defense let him down.
First judge. Boy does he look like a big dumb jock or what? Then the throw to 3rd. Then the miscommunication between pitcher and first base. Three errors in the 5th. What a catastrophe. Love it!

I recall the last time the tigers were in the World Series we had an inning like the 5th inning last night. We choked. It happens.

I will go out on a limb here and predict the Dodgers take the series in 5 games.

they handed it to them....game 4 the yankees showed up....last night it looked like they were back and then it seemed like a fucking little league team came out instead in the 5th inning........Soto is probably in talks right now with the dodgers...

I almost fell off my chair when Cole failed to cover first on that ground ball in the 5th. He HAD PITCHED OUT OF A BASES-LOADED JAM, and all he had to do was cover first. That was basically the whole reason for the loss, right there.

Cole's explanation was that the ball was spinning wildly and hit slowly so the 1st baseman should have come in and been close to the bag when he caught it. The 1B said he stayed back to make sure he gloved it. Either way, the pitcher HAS TO cover first on that play, and if the 1B waves him off, so be it, but he has to be in position to cover.

While I have no love for either team I thought it would have been super to watch the Yankees do something that and never been done before.

Parenthetically, the box score for Cole reads, zero earned runs, which is bizarre, but correct. No error was charged on his failure to cover.

i have seen that situation so many times with the Angels when Nola Ryan was pitching,he would have a shutout in the 7-8th inning with only 2 or 3 hits off him and the score would be 1,2 or 3 nothing, and then an error and the defense falls apart and the winning unearned runs come in....Ryan lost lots of 1 run games...

It was great the way the Yankees fell apart. How embarrassing. PERFECT way for those arrogant bastards to lose.

And maybe it's not Judge I hate. Maybe it's NY fans. I was wearing a Tiger's hat on the subway and a kid got in my face and yelled DETROIT SUCKS! And his dad just laughed. TBH, so did I. I was shocked.

So I think of that kid, now probably 35, experiencing that meltdown in the 5th last night. Fuck you kid.

They were saying last night that innings 1-4 were stress free pitching for the Yankee pitcher. But 5 and on, every pitch was stressful.

Ryan used to say that he felt like he had to pitch a no hitter every game because he got little support and if he makes one bad pitch it could be something that beats them...

Nolan Ryan lost five no-hitters in the ninth inning during his career, which led to a record 12 complete game one-hitters....

My favorite moment watching the Yankees get their asses kicked was this

Perfect example of a Yankee fan
