So then Vietnam would not have ended, there would be no Civil Rights, and in fact, we would still be a British colony.
What you seem to forget is that the police are almost always the bad guy, doing what the wealthy elite pay them to do, like strike breaking in Haymarket Square.
The fact these protestors this one time, were wrong about the election, is not relevant.

She was no longer demonstrating when she climbed up that window frame. In that instant, she became a threat to lead that violent mob of domestic terrorists into the House chamber, just a few feet from where she was, where lawmakers and staff were still holed up.

Congress was way down the hall, and had its own entrance security.
If this doorway had been at all significant, then it would have had more cops and they would not have left.

If they were going to shoot people on the vague theory there was some possible or potential future threat to congress people, then they should have fired a warning shot before anyone even entered the building.
This doorway was no more significant than ANY of the half dozen doors that had already been breached.

The POINT is these demonstrators wanted and deserved feedback.
They wanted and deserved to know they had been heard.
That never happened, so they were justified in pressing their complaints.
They had a right to be heard, even though they were wrong about the election, most likely.
