a pardon doesn't erase a crime, the crime still happned. It's just an acceptance of guilt, and forgivness from the executive for the crime.I think the pardon dictates there was no crime. Whatever actually took place is no longer a crime.
Chicken vs egg. Then there can't be a pardon.
If the subpoena is for something she did when she wasn’t a part of congress, you might have an argument.Cheney isn't a part of congress anymore.
Okay. So in order to refuse to accept a subpoena, all you have to do is say the magic words “it’s a criminal enterprise”.Why? He defined the Jan 6th Committee, which was a criminal enterprise, we know that now since they needed blanket pardons.
If the subpoena is for something she did when she wasn’t a part of congress, you might have an argument.
Of course that's how the law works, you have no legal obligation to take part in a criminal enterprise....in fact, just the opposite. Geez manOkay. So in order to refuse to accept a subpoena, all you have to do is say the magic words “it’s a criminal enterprise”.
That’s not how the law works, doofus.
And what principle would excuse a current member from testifying as opposed to a former member from testifying? It's to find out what happened during the hearings she was running. Now that she has immunity from anything done during those hearings, why would she not testify about them?
Okay. So Liz Cheney just has to say that Congress is a criminal enterprise and stay home.Of course that's how the law works, you have no legal obligation to take part in a criminal enterprise....in fact, just the opposite. Geez man

What are you going to do force them to testify? What principle would allow a former member of congress to ignore a subpoena from the current congress?
That's the point of this conversation.
Congress didn't run a criminal enterprise, the Jan 6th Committee, and only it's members were running one, and needed a pardon.Okay. So Liz Cheney just has to say that Congress is a criminal enterprise and stay home.
Cool.
Yes....Congress, like the Court, can compel testimony. What are you going to do force them to testify?
What are you going to do force them to testify?
All you have to do is say it’s a criminal enterprise. That’s what Jim Jordan did and POOF no obligation to comply with a subpoena.Congress didn't run a criminal enterprise, the Jan 6th Committee, and only it's members were running one, and needed a pardon.
Try again.
It’s a piece of paper that Republicans (especially Trump) are fond of ignoring.Um, do you know what a subpoena is?
Jim Jordan didn't say that, they admitted it when they accepted a pardon from xiden. All you have to do is say it’s a criminal enterprise. That’s what Jim Jordan did and POOF no obligation to comply with a subpoena.
I'm surprised the left hasn't figured it out yet that Quid Pro Joe opened the door for TRUMP! to simply pre-emptively pardon his entire administration to shield them from investigation and prosecution.Pardons for what they supposedly did (who knows), not for rejecting a congressional subpoena that would happen after they were pardoned, for something, they didn't do, but if they did, they were pardoned, for what, we don't know.
It’s a piece of paper that Republicans (especially Trump) are fond of ignoring.
It doesn’t enforce itself. What are you going to do? You can’t expel Cheney from Congress like they should have for Jim Jordan.
No, they arrest her and jail here, like the Dems did with RepublicansIt’s a piece of paper that Republicans (especially Trump) are fond of ignoring.
