There is an interesting phenomenon at play here. Millions and millions of millennials and such are doing fine. They get a good education with the help of their parents, they get a decent job out of College and remain in the family home saving money until they meet the Person of the Dreams, who has done pretty much the same thing. They get engaged and married, and have enough for a down payment on a house shortly thereafter. A few years later, after they have paid off all their debts (except for the mortgage loan, of course), they have a couple of kids.
It happens all the time, but you would never know it reading forums like this and FaceBook. I can name a dozen couples in my own family that have reached their mid-30's doing exactly what I describe above, and are doing fine. I did it myself 50-couple years ago, aided by the GI Bill in all its manifestations.
Don't tell me it can't be done, or "Everybody is suffering." It just ain't true.
