People get the government they deserve and so with my choice, I picked "other". I see the threat to any democracy is an uninformed public. While the internet provides a vast resource information, it has become a new pathway for yellow journalism.

That would be complacent citizens who do nothing for generations even when it's clear tyranny is taking root.

By that measure, it's GOT to be the Conservative Right.
After all, the Founding Fathers KNEW tyranny would raise it's ugly head again and put forth a framework for Patriots to prevent it.

DAMN if the Conservative Right worked so hard for over 100 years to ignore all the warnings and to do absolutely nothing that the founding fathers clearly said must be done.

All that is required for evil men to prevail is for good for nothing men who call themselves patriots, to do nothing.
The Conservative Do Nuffin Right has excelled at sponsoring and encouraging tyranny in this manner.
Democrats have plunged headlong into defeating democracy.

Except for the fact that the two parties have the system rigged so that only one of the two of them can win. Therefore, people aren't really allowed to vote for anyone else, not in reality anyway. If they do vote for someone else, one of the two parties will win anyway. The fact is, independents and third parties who do run aren't putting forth any good candidates. That's just a fact. Protest votes are just protest votes to someone who isn't good enough to win anyway. This is why many Libertarians run as Republicans and many progressives run as Democrats, because they can't win by running as Libertarians or Progressives.

I don't know how you make the public informed when pretty much all of the media are biased one way or the other. And, you have to take into account that a very huge percentage of the public ARE informed by the biased media they choose to listen to. And, on top of that, the reality is that there are millions and millions of Americans who are just too plain stupid to understand things if they were properly informed and I don't even know where they would get properly informed from. But, as I said millions are just plain too stupid to be informed if there was a way to inform them.

As far as the internet goes, yes, it has divided us further from what we had been. I don't think it is possible to police that as anyone who wants to eliminate misinformation does so with a bias of their own and both sides would love to do just that - be their own police in determining misinformation coming from the other side.
