One week ago, 23-year-old Nick Shirley was relatively unknown in the public sphere. But in recent days, he has gained hundreds of thousands of followers and millions of views, amplified by Elon Musk, Vice President JD Vance and FBI Director Kash Patel.
The MAGA leaders promoted Shirley’s video of himself and a Minnesota activist investigating federally funded facilities in the state that allegedly posed as daycares without any children present. It’s part of what many on the right say is widespread government assistance fraud perpetuated by the Somali community there.
Shirley’s experience could only happen in today’s media and political environment – where seemingly anyone can go viral, helped along by social media gatekeepers like Musk. His Minnesota investigation video has garnered over 116 million views on X and 1.6 million views on YouTube - a number that most traditional newsrooms would trumpet as a major success.
In a failing economy with good jobs that are scarce, this may be a good alternative for you.
Just turn into a private investigator and begin to investigate the never-ending corruption on the Left you see around you.
It reminds me of the investigators who went into Planned Parenthood and video recorded them offering to buy body parts of aborted babies.
Unfortunately, Kamala Harris and company took legal action against them, however, and ended up making them look like the criminals even though they never proved that the videos were not real. Such illegal and unethical behavior no doubt continues, but we should still fight. It's not like Legacy media or our politicians will uncover such corruption, so it is literally up to us.

Back in the 70's private/solo journalists were all over the place, finding out what toxic garbage we were eating, what polluted waters we were drinking, what chemical dyes did to our bodies, not to mention all the fraudulent "psychics", "ghosts", and "UFOs" that were being spread around as facts. Politicians were finally being exposed for their lies and treachery.
There have always been those, journalists or not, that have done the footwork to expose the criminal element in our society. But at the forefront of new recording and video technologies in the 70s, private journalists were having field days with all that was being uncovered.
It's only moreso today because of the internet and "smart phones".
