There was nothing in the Affordable Care Act which prevented you from keeping your doctor. If your doctor refused to accept ACA patients, that was his/her decision.

Every day on my favourite "Snark Thread", Americans are complaining that the best, or the closest, or their current doctor is not on their insurance company's list. One of my friends in Texas with a terminal diagnosis, is now having to drive an extra hour because the guy who has been treating her cancer, is now outside of her insurance company's list. Her husband is housebound, and she's being forced to drive for hours each time she needs treatment.

Why do you tolerate insurance companies telling you who you must see? Forcing you to change doctors? Shit like this NEVER happens in Canada. The government has never told me where I must go for treatment or who I am to see.

The only time I have to change doctors is when I move. And in fact, I am returning to my small town doctor for my post heart attack follow up, next week, because it happened two weeks after I moved, and before I could get registered with anyone in the city. And he's been my doctor for the last 10 years and I know and trust him. Best PC doctor I've ever had, in my lifetime.

Actual journalists don't deal in "they're committing fraud". They list Jane Doe is committing fraud, John Doe is committing fraud... So far, I haven't seen that from Shirley. Again, I don't pay a lot of attention to him. I'm hoping you can help me out on that front.
