Should yer SS continue after yer death to yer spouse or are you gonna tell the SSA that she doesn't get it?

Not sure how it works in your country, but here, if one dies, his kin should notify the government so that he will stop getting benefits, however, his widow might still qualify for survivor benefit, which is related to the main benefit, but technically is still different.

And one must fill out paperwork to get survivors' benefits by proving their spouse or parent(s) are deceased.
