Like most all Catholics it is useless to argue with you. Instead of addressing the falsity of your beliefs you divert. Must be comforting for you not to have to look in the mirror as to why you believe things that are as ludicrous as a belief that some god causes thunder and worldwide flooding that kills all life that wasn't on the boat.
But I don't believe that God did kill everyone but 8 people with a flood. I believe that that account was an allegorical portrayal of an historic event; a great flood that was outside of the norm that was probably caused by an asteroid striking the ocean. And that they used embellishment to make the point that failed behaviors lead to failure and successful behaviors lead to success and to make the account more entertaining and memorable so that it was easier to remember and pass down.
So, you're one who picks and chooses what in the bible is allegory even though the bible nowhere says that particular story is. At least you are honest that the bible can't be taken literally and is a collection of made-up stories of cataclysmic and other events. In other words, a work of fiction with some facts thrown in all intended to make people believe there is some invisible being out there watching us and keeping score to determine if we graduate when we die. Tell me though, how does one decide the truth of whether or not something written by unknown people 3-4 years ago is made up allegory?
Reason and logic decides. These accounts were thousands of years old before being recorded in writing. Until then they were passed down orally from generation to generation. Because that's how knowledge and wisdom were passed down 6,000 years ago.
Of course the story is nonsense that is only foisted on children. Atheists don't believe it either. But we don't believe it should be taught to children. The majority of Christians will go on to live their adult lives believing in the lie.

Donald, that story is just one of many intended beyond any doubt whatsoever to instill fear into young impressionable children. Cults and politicians do this to humans and know that the younger the humans are the more easily persuaded that those in authority are telling them the truth. As long as humans have been around is as long as fear was the number one emotion used to make them believe because belief in elders was mandated by evolution in order to survive.
Not just children! Until Darwin, it was intended for adults and was accepted as literally true by almost all adult Christians. The stories may still be accepted as true by a majority of Christians?

If you do a search on AI, meaning places like Google, AI, or Copilot it is interesting that you get answers one would expect from a religious apologist. This is because of inputs into the computer banks and who inputs it. I discovered that they use Wikipedia in many cases and you may know that Wiki allows people to input information into Wiki. I found that many priests, pastors, and apologists input the Wiki data.
