I take it you live in a area where there are very few Asians.

I feel safer in La Puente than I do in Roland Heights.

For those not from the Los Angeles area, La Puente is a San Gabriel Valley barrio - probably 90% Mexican. Roland Heights is right next to it - little China. Both have gangs but the Chinese gangs are more aggressive.

I have lived in Los Angeles since the 1940s.
Until immigration policies, there were few Chinese-Americans in this area, and they were truly the model minority.

Yes, I know that parts of the San Gabriel Valley are now predominately Chinese.

I have not heard that today's Chinese gangs attack other ethnicities, but you would know better than I.
