The White House conceded Friday that new gun regulations probably wouldn’t have prevented the gunman who murdered two television journalists in southwestern Virginia this week.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest said it appears that a proposal championed by President Obama to require background checks on purchases at gun shows “would not have applied in this particular case.”

Law enforcement officials said gunman Vester Flanagan used a Glock handgun in Wednesday’s shooting, one of two that he bought last month. He legally bought two Glock model 19 handguns from a Virginia dealer.

Since the Obama Administration has been forced to admit nothing they have proposed could have stopped this madman...here is the challenge to gun control advocates...what law, restriction or regulation could have stopped this murderer?

There are no laws, legislation, nor regulation that can prevent people from having guns. It's impossible. Anyone that wants a gun, can get a gun.

I have bought many guns at a variety of gun shows and have had a background check performed on me each time. There is no gunshow loophole, at least not in Georgia.

But this President is going to go balls to the walls to get a shitload of new gun laws anyway...
It's rumored he muttered under his breath.

Back in the day if you wanted a gun you could go to Mexico and Holder's boys would have sold you one, no check, nothing.

anyone else sick of Seven miserable years of Obama this, Obama that?

does he ever sleep? because he never shuts his mouth as if we care about every little thing he thinks about. He must have a reporter housed in his and Mabells bed. everyday it's Obama this, Obama that. Obama farted today and he swears it didn't stink.

blaaa I'm so sick of him

Georgia does not require background checks but venues where the event is held might. Also, you may have purchased the weapons from someone that relies on selling guns as their primary means of income. They are required to run a background check. The gun show loophole doesn't necessarily cover all of the firearms being sold at shows. It pertains to private sellers from what I understand.

From NBC News:

Nothing in Flanagan's background disqualified him from buying a gun. He was arrested in Greenville, North Carolina, in 2004. But that case was for a traffic offense that, according to court records, was later dismissed. It was a misdemeanor charge: Even if he had been convicted, it would not have made him ineligible.

As for his mental health, the standard in federal law is very high: "adjudicated as a mental defective" or "committed to a mental institution." Nothing in Flanagan's history indicates that either standard fit him, despite his reputation as an unstable co-worker.
