Oh, yes, you do lack the authority if you took him from his own country - ie kidnapped him without him wanting to go. There is nothing arguable about it. He has diplomatic immunity. Not that I'm happy about the likes of him having it, but he is the leader of another country. That aside, he's an arsehole and I hope he goes to prison.
