LOL. Believe it or not, somewhere in there we actually agree on maybe 25%. I'm more realistic on both than you are though. You only seem to be realistic regarding Taiwan. If China invades they are toast and the only thing the world can do is to all get together and publicly condemn the invasion in the strongest possible terms AKA - nothing.

When it comes to Ukraine, we wouldn't even be in this mess in the first place if Biden hadn't been so incompetent in getting out of Afghanistan. Russia would have never invaded Ukraine. But, realistically, Russia will never be beaten back from Ukrainian territory without NATO getting very directly involved, probably including actual NATO troops and long range missiles.

The thing is, NATO is a member organization and you join, pay your dues, and will then be protected by NATO. When NATO starts protecting countries who aren't members then it gives no incentive to other countries to become members or ante up money if NATO is just going to protect that country for free anyway and without being a member.
