Slinky was cool out of the box but only seemed to last about a day or too before it got all tangled

You must take good care of your Slinky!

My oldest did.... my youngest mangled his .....

What's even funnier is I don't really like that movie that much. The best part of the movie was the end with the Chinese restaurant staff singing Christmas carols........

Water rockets were cool, but they always would end up on the roof

I agree. I remember shooting them off 60 years ago and having them inevitably end up on the roof.
I saw a launch demonstrated this weekend at a science fair by a GIRL.
These rockets were a toy for boys when I was growing up.
