Which Side Are You On?

No matter how you slice it or cut it up, the bottom line is that Israel is the aggressor nation which wrongfully seized land that belonged to someone else. However, to really understand what is going on here, substitute Afrikaner for Israeli and Black for Palestinian and then think about which side you should be on.

Why canÂ’t the Palestinians enjoy same rights as everyone else in the world? The reason is that this would mean that in Israel, the Palestinians would enjoy the same rights as the Israelis and to an Israeli, equal rights for anyone else under the law is anathema and repugnant. Why? All Jews claim the right of return and this means that the Jews of the world have a right to live in Palestine irrespective of whether they or their ancestors ever lived there or not. If Palestinians also enjoyed a right of return, then it would be incumbent upon the Israeli government to help them return to their homes in Israel, the only difference being that, in many cases, they would be returning to the homes which they formerly lived in and had been occupied by their families for generations; albeit homes or land now occupied by Israelis.

In conclusion, a right of return entails a winner and a loser. This being the case, there is no such right either in truth or in the eyes of God.

The Israelis didn't seize anything.

Your whole foundation for butthurt is wrong.

Dear Healthmyths:

Any one of us can very easily list a plethora of wrongs and atrocities committed by both sides of this conflict. To what purpose; as in all wars, to demonize the other side so people will feel comfortable with destruction, slaughter and murder. The only rational way to decide this issue is as it is with all issues; logically, rationally, and in keeping with the sound principles of justice and fair play. All your one-sided rhetoric does is contribute to the continuation of the conflict and ensure that war is a permanent condition for humankind.

And your one-sided rhetoric did something else? I don't think so.

having arms to defend yourself is fine. Using them to terrorize you neighbors is not. Hamas is a terrorist organization, Hamas has been lobbing missiles into Israel for years. Hamas is the agressor, Israel is defending itself.

Are you a muslim?

I dislike the phrase 'terrorism because it is a poorly defined word which, once applied to a person, gives the so called aut'horities the license to kill them irrespective of their being a terrorist or not. Granted, there are real terrorists out there, however they are far less common than we are led to believe. What most of them really are is criminals, insurgents, freedom fighters, and patriots. Obviously, people of the type enumerated may or may not warrant killing, but to hold that they have forfeited their lives and should be summarily murdered is wrong.

How about we agree that Israel is defending itself while Hamas is trying to regain what Israel stole from it.

As to my being a Muslim or not. The answer is no. I am a second generation American who was raised in Brooklyn, New York. I hold an Aerospace Engineering degree from the University of Michigan an MBA from Long Island University. While at the U of M I was and NROTC student and became a Navy carrier based Fighter Pilot upon graduation. Upon resigning my Officers Commission, I was offered the opportunity to enter the Astronaut developmental program but turned this down. I have worked as a Flight Test Conductor for Grumman Aerospace on its F-14 test flight program, owned and operated a school of gymnastics for 12 years, and am a retired Financial Administrator from the City of Fort Lauderdale. Up retiring, the City Commission, in a almost unheard course of action, dedicated the day of my retirement to me in my honor. They did this for extraordinary services rendered which where far beyond what is expected of an average employee.

No, I am not a Muslim, but why would this matter. Do you really hold if a Muslim says it, it has to be wrong. Or perhaps its if one stands up for what is right, that person must be a Muslim because what's right is wrong for Israel.

I don't remember any Jews crashing airplanes into our buildings.

I don't remember any Jews doing this either.

However, what I do remember is a slew of government agencies whose prime missions were to prevent such things, sitting back and doing nothing while 19 Arab nationals who probably had trouble figuring out how to flush a toilet, successful pull off something that should have been impossible considering the systems in place to prevent such things. Who benefited most from 9/11. Was it the Arabs or the Israelis? Gee! I guess having the United States fight the entire Arab world for you is not really a benefit because it's God's will.

The lame rationale of the Hamas apologist. Noted.

Hamas or its military wing is designated as a terrorist organization by Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, the European Union, Jordan, Egypt, Australia, and Japan.

A lame attempt by a terrorist apologist to excuse the guilty by blaming the victim (the US) while simultaneously vilifying Israel just for good measure.

The U.N declared a Two State Solution which the Arabs rejected . This idea also evolved after WW 1 . Educate yourself and read about what happened in Hebron. " Right of Return" would destroy the Jewish State that the U.N declared and annex Israel to Palestine. Educate yourself and tell us why Abbas declared No Israelis in the Palestinian State or why Hamas declared they will never accept the " Two State Solution"

Just tell white northamericans, australians, newzelanders, et al., to get their asses back from where they come from and we'll talk. hehe

Nonsense in a lunchbox

I stand on the side of the Israelis and against the murdering terrorists called Hamas.

I stand for fairness, justice, equal rights under the law, and peace. These are values which should be subscribed to by all Americans who are not American in name only. By siding with Israel you are forgoing these ends and principles. This raises the question, how can a person could hold dual citizen between America and Israel when one country exemplifies equal rights under the law and freedom and the other nation only offers these inalienable rights to Jews. Maybe you can explain this to me?

P.S. I am no fan of Hamas either.

Justice is different in the eyes of the beholder, that is why it's laughable to say you stand for justice, because different people see it in a different way.

Hamas sees 'justice' as destroying the state of Israel. Israel sees justice as in 'destroying Hamas'.

You say that by siding with the side you don't agree with, you turn to evil. That is also laughable. Your opinion is not the only one that matters here, and your narrow mind refuses to see that for some reason
