Actually, technically, The Stones, Led Zep and AC/DC are the only classic rock bands. The Beatles never were a rock band, they were a Merseybeat rock & roll evolving into a psychedelic rock, as was Floyd.

And a little known fact was that much of Zeppelin's success was tied to or had its origins in Jeff Beck who was a major influence on them.

Christ that's hard Toob, so many were just admirably adept , yet so unsung and underrated.

as to the list Paul McCartney was simply ahead of his time

John Paul Jones broke all the rules....

Billy Wyman was a perfect fit For Charlie Watts

Rodger waters was a great fit for the genre , as well as the great timing for it

And AC/DC had more bassists than i can remember

All were great bands with different flavors or Rock N Roll.

If I had to choose just one, it would be AC/DC. Thankfully I can hear them all and often do as each are a part of my collection.

I don't like any of those bands.

In fact, I especially dislike those bands. Ha. Though I can tolerate a few AC/DC songs. Depends on my mood.

It's hard to say about classic bands, though. I dunno. I suppose it just depends on one's mood when presented with the question.

At the moment I'm listening to some Traveling Wilburys. Which, though not a classic band in the scheme of things, they were a group of classic musicians.

Can't decide whether I like the Vol 3 better than Vol 1 album, though. But the Volume 3 album has that groove I like.

On thing is for sure though, and that's that in the age of digital downloads, there likely won't ever be another classic band or classic song. Those days are gone.
