The country has been in debt for the better part of a century with no sign of getting out of debt, in fact The debt has risen like a Richter scale. What makes you think that can be turned around?
The only way to get out of debt is through spending less, you cannot spend your way out of debt, no two ways about it.
Future taxing is a no go, especially when it comes to a political country. You cannot count on those future perceived taxes.

Where you are backwards on, is you don’t raise taxes to spend more, that is insanity. The responsible thing is to spend less before raising taxes... Raising taxes should be the last resort, in fact maybe not even an option.
