I would say that it was upbringing but that's not always the case. For the most part I think that it is though. Even in upbringing it has to have a beginning somewhere so is it a generational thing? How have we sunk so low as a society with such low regard for human life both big and small?

Just the video it is not a real test of someone's reaction. It would take a real situation to really see people real reactions.

Thats not lack of empathy thats called diffusion of responsibility. The more people that are present the less likely one will intervene.
