No, they weren't high functioning. Smart yes, but that's not what I am referring to. I am specifically talking about impulse control.

Quite WRONG. Kaczynski (The Unabomber) was anything but high functioning, that is why he withdrew from work, society, even his own family. He could not even hide his psychoses (I believe he was diagnosed schizophrenic), which is what finally gave him away. His own brother looked at the rantings of the Unabomber, reread some of the old rantings from his troubled brother, and realized they were the same people.

Ted Bundy probably qualifies. Not that familiar with the rest. Bundy if I remember right actually passed himself off as this very amicable, good looking guy--- until he got you alone.

Lack of compassion/empathy for others is only part of the clinical picture. But yeah, I'm pretty sure West knows just what he's talking about--- you... not so sure.

After every one of our mass shootings, millions of Americans just shrug it off as if it happens everywhere.

That is because it is happening everywhere pretty much. The big question is, do those people who shrug it off try to become more aware of where they choose to be at all times? In other words, are we becoming more conscientious with every passing tragedy?
