The irony of this statement is that in Canada, that officer might apply the same statement to much of his own staff, especially the plain-clothed variety.

This is why you need an honest, by the books, transparent and serious F.B.I. If you lose the F.B.I you lose a great deal of your nation and its reputation. The FBI investigate bad police agencies and officers and I've seen MANY on youtube lately. They are hurting the GOP politically in my opinion. Like those in Canada, but at least you have the FBI to complain to and have these bad officers and forces investigated.

The FBI must be foundation of your nations justice system. I've thought this since I was a kid. Blind, honest, fair, operating by the letter of the law to the point they refuse to pursue even the bad guys they know are doing bad because the evidence just isn't there, or, was manufactured.

Choose people of character and commitment, not career government officials. Keep your country free and immune from foreign influencers who point to bad actors in America to hurt your global Goodwill.

We've never had some of the social programs left wingers push for, like universal healthcare and publicly funded tuition, even when top tax rates were above 80%. Those high rates applied to a narrow portion of income and didn’t generate the kind of revenue needed for massive new entitlements. Countries that have those programs, like those in Scandinavia, fund them with broad-based taxes on the middle class.

While rich individuals do hold a lot of wealth, the broader truth is that the middle and upper-middle classes, because of their sheer numbers, account for the majority of national income and consumption. That’s where most taxable economic activity occurs. Large scale public investments require broad participation. Just taxing the rich more won't make these things possible. Countries with strong safety nets, such as those in Scandinavia, reflect this in practice with high taxes across income levels. Pretending otherwise isn't logical and sets the public up for disappointment through unrealistic expectations.

Sadly, law enforcement, including the FBI, must pursue justice with the laws given them by the Legislatures, which are wholly inadequate for the task.
