When we say trump is stifling dissent, this is what we mean.

Trump again threatens ABC's broadcast license, this time over Epstein questions

President Donald Trump on Tuesday resurrected a threat to revoke ABC’s broadcast license, after a reporter for the network asked him about releasing files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“You’re a terrible person and a terrible reporter,” Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “I think the license [should be] taken away from ABC because your news is so fake and is so wrong, and we have a great [FCC] chairman who should look at that.”

The subtext being, "if you ask me questions I don't want to answer I will threaten the news outlet you work for with revoking its broadcast license."
Trump doesnt take any crap from the media so he verbally ***** slapped an arrogant reporter. I love it

FEMA Suspends Staff Who Signed a Letter Criticizing Trump

The Federal Emergency Management Agency on Tuesday suspended around 30 employees after those workers wrote to Congress warning that the Trump administration had gutted the nation’s ability to handle hurricanes, floods and other extreme weather disasters.

Of the 182 FEMA employees who signed the letter to Congress, 36 attached their names, while the rest withheld their identities for fear of retaliation.

Those who used their names received emails on Tuesday night saying they had been placed on paid administrative leave “effective immediately, and continuing until further notice,” according to copies of the emails reviewed by The New York Times.

The emails did not provide a reason for the decision. Representatives for FEMA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

I very much hope what happened to these FEMA employees, and what happened to the three star general, Jeffrey Kruse, who wrote a report detailing the damage to Iranian nuclear facilities in contradiction of trump's hyperbolic characterization (it was a lie), does not have the desired effect.

I hope it does not intimidate employees of the government, or any person really, from speaking the truth. The truth being this government's mortal enemy. But I fear it will. I fear intimidation works. When I see law firms and universities acquiescing to threats from trump.......I know it does.

What I don't know is how many people will be silenced for fear of retribution? I don't know how much will we not learn about the inner workings of our government because people are afraid of our government?
Whoa. I can’t believe he fired someone over a criticism. This guy is a wanna be dictator.

"We don't like Trump! At ALL!"

Is not "truth" it is an opinion.

Attacking the boss is not a good way to achieve job security. If they are too dumb to know that, they are not the people I want rescuing me off a rooftop.

Universities are teaching nothing worth knowing, apparently.

The letter those employees wrote was legitimate criticism of regime policy with a factual predicate.

GFY.

1158 days remaining.

Maybe you TDS ***** should take up knitting.

MAGA lies.
Then who was responsible to get the aid where it needed to go? I drove through the area effected several months after the storm and talked with people who had seen no response from any level of government. They were digging themselves out and taking care of each other.

Who was responsible to get aid where it needed to go? Be honest.

Aren't you folks all in a tizzy over Dem's remaining silent over Biden showing his age? Haven't you asked why they didn't speak up?

If someone in the Biden admin had gone public with concerns over his mental acuity.........AND WAS FIRED........you would have lit your hair on fire.
And you would have been on the front lines demanding they be burned at the stake. What's your point?

Suppose it was legitimate criticism.

Was it worth the sacrifice?
Is speaking truth to ignorant power worth the sacrifice? You'd have to ask the folks who were suspended. My guess is they'd say yes. I suspect they considered the possibility the regime, trump, would try to intimidate other federal employees in to not exposing the regime's reckless idiocy.

The aid did get where it needed to go. You’re not being honest.

You stood by silently during Quid Pro Joe's disastrous degeneration, yet daily shriek bloody murder about Orange Man. I'm saying your outrage is quite selective. Since you brought up the specter of Quid Pro's people speaking out and being fired, I'm saying you likely would have been on the other side, demanding that they be silenced.

But he keeps accumulating it anyway, at what cost to the country? It’s the way he keeps score. It’s always about money, not policy or principle.
