When we say trump is stifling dissent, this is what we mean.

Aren't you folks all in a tizzy over Dem's remaining silent over Biden showing his age? Haven't you asked why they didn't speak up?

If someone in the Biden admin had gone public with concerns over his mental acuity.........AND WAS FIRED........you would have lit your hair on fire.

The people in the admin we were bitching about were APPOINTED, they weren't civil servants.

Government is not a private enterprise. DHS employees are charged with keeping the country safe. If the discharge of their duties means being critical of Dotard's decisions it is their right and their obligation to let the public know he is making the country less safe.
Not by these means. There is a process to address any grievances within the workplace. This is a seditious attempt to bypass that process. All of these people need to be fired.

Someone did go public, and was attacked....his name was Hur..you just didn't listen.

They work for the president, he is their boss.
He is their boss to the extent he can fire them. But their responsibility to do their jobs is to the public. If trump is compromising public safety, as he so clearly is, they are obliged to tell us. Not protect an incompetent prez at the risk of people's lives.

FEMA Suspends Staff Who Signed a Letter Criticizing Trump

The Federal Emergency Management Agency on Tuesday suspended around 30 employees after those workers wrote to Congress warning that the Trump administration had gutted the nation’s ability to handle hurricanes, floods and other extreme weather disasters.

Of the 182 FEMA employees who signed the letter to Congress, 36 attached their names, while the rest withheld their identities for fear of retaliation.

Those who used their names received emails on Tuesday night saying they had been placed on paid administrative leave “effective immediately, and continuing until further notice,” according to copies of the emails reviewed by The New York Times.

The emails did not provide a reason for the decision. Representatives for FEMA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

I very much hope what happened to these FEMA employees, and what happened to the three star general, Jeffrey Kruse, who wrote a report detailing the damage to Iranian nuclear facilities in contradiction of trump's hyperbolic characterization (it was a lie), does not have the desired effect.

I hope it does not intimidate employees of the government, or any person really, from speaking the truth. The truth being this government's mortal enemy. But I fear it will. I fear intimidation works. When I see law firms and universities acquiescing to threats from trump.......I know it does.

What I don't know is how many people will be silenced for fear of retribution? I don't know how much will we not learn about the inner workings of our government because people are afraid of our government?
Aggressive intimidation is perhaps the most important weapon of an authoritarian. It's been that way throughout history. That's something a person feels even when the authoritarian is nowhere to be seen. Punish people for anything, everyone around them will learn.

Look at how they sit around the table during "cabinet meetings", taking turns lavishing comical praise on an overgrown child like it's North Korea.

Now our entire government is either pro-MAGA, pretending to be pro-MAGA, or keeping their ******* mouths shut.

This is an ugly, ugly time. But that's fascism. Play along or you're a target.

Seditious? You've lost your mind. They aren't undermining his presidency. Surely you don't think he can't withstand some internal criticism.

You do understand traditionally civil servants who act as whistleblowers have protections, right?

That is also a matter that should have been addressed through the 25th Amendment. Alas, Democrats are power hungry scum working only for their own personal interests and the nation be damned. Had any government employees disclosed the true state of Biden's mental deficiency, you'd be screaming for their heads. Look how you loons fought to keep the Hur report buried.

How did 182 sign the letter and only 30 sign their names? What were the other 150? Just X’s? How do we know they were actually people?

This story makes no sense

It's a bergy post of a Democrat NTY story.

I don't think that it is supposed to make sense.

Again, civil servants aren't supposed to shape policy, they are just there to enact it.

Civil servants are supposed to be apolitical cogs in the machine, not deciders of policy.

They certainly failed the people of NC
What the hell would you know? Do you know anyone affected by Helene?

Like in every natural disaster, it revealed much good in people, and it revealed much bad in other people. What is absolutely disgusting is those that attempt to make it a political issue. You think the people of Western North Carolina give a shit as to whether their aid worker is a Democrat or a Republican?

Defenders of all things trump apparently believe, as he does, that loyalty to him..........NOT THE COUNTRY........is paramount.

IT ISN'T.

If your dumbass actually read my whole post you would see that was addressed. What a disingenuous moron you are.

It was in the news. But you wouldn't know because you follow left loon news

Those people work for we the people, not trump. You folks seem to forget that essential fact. trump is not the government. He is a temporary steward of the office of POTUS who will be gone soon.................though admittedly not soon enough.

Your understanding of almost everything is - nonexistent.

Says a person who wants the country to fail as long as Trump can be blamed for it.

Well ,yes, but no one in trump's cabinet would dare broach the subject. Though some did last time around.

Well, that's another historical parallel.

The autocrat will always say that the flock is working for the country, when the reality is obviously quite different.

None of this is new. It's only new here.

It mattered to the aid workers -

Have you been in a coma?
