When Obama made fun of Romney about Putin, was Obama lying or stupid?

Obama said Russia was NOT a geopolitical threat and lampooned Romney for 1980s foreign policy.

Now, only 4 years later, Hillary says Donald is evil for saying that Putin is a "STRONG LEADER".

Was Obama just a lying politician or stupid with regards to Putin?

Interesting question. Obama was very clever in capitalizing on America's lingering guilt about slavery and demonizing his political opponents. Conversely, he is an arrogant ideologue who is woefully deficient in general knowledge and understanding of economics and foreign affairs.

So I guess the answer is both.
