So it would be the Egyptians instead of the Sumerians who had the most influence if that were the case. There is some slight influence re medical and hygiene practices from Egyptians, but that doesn't mean they lifted everything whole cloth from 'everybody else'. Most of their beliefs are entirely original, hence why 'everybody else' was constantly trying to do them in. They were extremely radical, and pagans feared them; stilll do, as we can see from these posts denying their innovations and cultural advancements.

I don't think this is about influence as much as it explains how information was passed down back then which was orally through stories. They started from stories that were well known.
