Wrong as usual.
She won the 2016 election when Rubio was knocked out of the race and Kasich didn't rise to the occassion. Of the GOP clown car, they had several candidates that could have beat her. When I say could have, I'm talking a Bush v. Gore matter of closeness. These are skilled politicians with something Ms. Clinton sorely lacks: political instincts.
The longer I live, the more I am convinced that political instincts are something you either have or do not. To say the right thing at the right time, unrehearsed is a blessing few have. To say the wrong thing at the wrong time (i.e. "that makes me smart") is something in abundance because what sounds good in your head isn't what sounds good repeated 5,000 times. Of Rubio, Kasich, Jeb Bush, and Scott Walker, you would have had a close race that could have gone either way. Rubio and Kasich would have likely won their home state which is more than Trump is doing with FL or OH it seems (much less NY). Bush would have won Florida. Not sure if Walker would have carried Wisconsin but there is little reason to think it wouldn't have been on the table like it is now. So electorally alone any of the four are a net win over Trump.
One can easily see any of the four being competitive in all of the swing states except for VA (Kaine, government base--no longer a swinger). I mean, how much would you give right now to see Marco or Scott Walker chunking footballs around the OSU stadium to some like-minded alum there to illustrate the contrast between HRC and themselves? Trump is actually older than HRC!!! Kasich would have played well out west as would have Rubio. Of the four, I think Jeb would have had the hardest time out west as he doesn't seem to have much "fire in the belly" for the race. I can see Rubio and his family skiing in Taos or Santa Fe.
None would have flipped the traditional blue states. But I can see FL, NC, OH, WI, NM, CO, AND NV in play with any of those four. Trump has gone out of his way to alienate peole in ever demogrpahic because he has no political instincts. Whatsmore is that it was very hard to cast yourself as an outsider when you were "paying to play" most of your adult life. Its sort of like the GM of a Baseball Team making the case that he should become Commissioner because he was never a player or a manger and, therefore, he could bring a fresh perspective to the game; like encouraging teams to have more American players on the team by awarding native born batters 4 strikes per at bat instead of 3.
I'm sure the OP has a koo koo for cocoa puffs idea of what happened, that there is some cabal of ruthless bleeding heart liberals hell bent on world domination that annointed Hillary as President. It's as stupid as it is non-sensical. HRC won because she ran a superior campaign. Trump lost beacause he ran an inferior campaign.
It really is that simple.
