I rarely do either. I cannot remember when I last actually laughed out loud. But I did snigger a couple of times during a comedy spoof film a while back. As for crying, the last time I cried was when my birdy died five years ago, and before that it was probably decades ago.

I was once told by a very wise man to find something to cry about at least once a day and something to laugh about once a day.

TRY TO CONTROL YOURSELF!!!! and now for physiology-------
both laughter and weeping is GOOD FOR YOU------I forget why---
which hormones get up or down and which parts of your brain
swing into action------but it's good for you

I laugh daily...I can find humor is most anything. I don't remember the last thing that made me cry...maybe a sad movie.

I laugh out loud at this forum all the time. I'm very sick emotionally but I laugh at lots of stuff. It's involuntary. It's the laugh of the mad.

I cry too sometimes.

PBA-----(pseudo bulbar affect)---try not to worry about it----
it might not be serious

Yesterday I was walking and a guy ran past me in only spandex bike pants. I laughed.

...But only after he was past me. I'm glad too because he must get a lot of negativity.

I can't remember the last time I laughed. I don't cry. Only weak people cry.

Last night. In the flame zone. First time in years I had a belly ache from laughing. Complete with tears.

Last time I cried? Sitting in front of the shed where possums live in some of the empty boxes in there, telling them Gracie had died.

I laugh daily, literally. A day without laughter is wasted.

As for the other -- four years ago when my mother was on her deathbed she made me promise I wouldn't cry. The question of whether I managed to keep that promise is, to use one of her favourite words, "iffy".

I suspect though that in general as we age into the old codgers we are, those peaks and valleys of emotions flatten rather a lot. But I like to cultivate the positive. I admit, I like the endorphin rush.

Yeah heart-rending stories will do that to me. And certain viscerally-connected pieces of music. Just that thought starts one such piece playing in my head. I'm going to chase it away with something on the radio, because I don't want that piece to lose its power through overexposure.

The last time I cried was when I found a dead kitten under my hedge this spring/summer.
Well, that made me tear up a smidge. Must be the old crone in me Pogo was referring to.

Posting about the shed, the possums, Gracie made me tear up too.
But heaving honking howling sobbings? The day Gracie died.

Was Gracie a pet? I thought it was a typo at first.
