The Soviets cloned the BMW R71 before WW-2 and outfitted whole sidecar battalions with it....It was called the Dnepr M-72 back then.If it comes with the blonde, I don't mind slow

Newer than I thought, but still very nice. My first Goldwing was a 1979 with a full Vetter fairing and Samsonite trunk and saddlebags. I loved that bike.1980 & 83.
I knew a guy who owned a Road King. Bought it brand new, beautiful ride. He had it less then six months when he wrapped it around guardrails at 60 m.p.h. Almost lost his leg, surgeons saved it. A year later he t-boned some idiot who pulled out in front of him. He almost lost the other leg. Surgeons again saved him from being known as "step & a half" even though his leg x-rays look like the Eiffel Tower. He finally pulled his head out of his ass & no longer rides. He got $300,000 from the Bozo's insurance co. who pulled out in front of him. He blew most of it in casinos.I think it was a HD Road King....Just a different color and lots more chrome.
Damn, no wonder I had a time with it! I must be stronger than I thought!

Spyder are great. On my F-3 I can easily keep up with the Harley’s, Indians, BMWs and Goldwings in my club and out corner any of them. It will feel weird at first not having a hand brake and not leaning or counter-steering. I’d heard riding a Spyder is like riding a snowmobile.Mine is a 99 Goldwing and I can feel the difference. I am considering a CanAm Ryker or Spyder or a Polaris Slingshot. Due to price I am leaning more toward the four wheeled, higher powered Spyder.
gotta die of somethingI came up on this older guy this morning who had dropped his big-ass Harley over and I stopped to ask if he was OK. He must have been at least 75 and might have weighed 165 pounds soaking wet.
He asked if i could help him get his bike upright and I pulled over to help.....Damn that thing was heavy and to be honest he was not much help at all.
I relayed the story at the pawn shop and one of the older guys said the same thing happened to him a few years back (he's 78) and he sold his HD the next day!
I figured that if I don't have the ass to pick it up then I don't need it, he said.
I never Biker Bob-ed myself so just wondering when you figured to give it up.
Riding a Spyder is an admission that you have lost your sacks. My neighbor in my office park rides a Street Glide and his wife rides a Spyder. Think on that for a spell.Spyder are great. I've been riding a Spyder for ten years. I can run with the big boys. I guarantee my Spyder will outrun, out accelerate and out corner his antediluvian Harley.Riding a Spyder is an admission that you have lost your sacks. That's great! I am sure that everyone watching you will be mighty impressed by the girl driving the Spyder!I've been riding a Spyder for ten years. I can run with the big boys. I guarantee my Spyder will outrun, out accelerate and out corner his antediluvian Harley.
You two are hilarious. "Look at me, I'm an old man who still thinks he's macho because he rides on two wheels instead of three." LMAO. Grow up. I ride for MY pleasure and I'm definitely in a competition for who's sack is bigger. SMFH.That's great! I am sure that everyone watching you will be mighty impressed by the girl driving the Spyder!
I've done it with mine. It works well. I don't think Harley put much thought into picking theirs up. They generally sit lower and I don't think they have that passenger grip handle. LOL, it kind of depends which way a Goldwing falls as well. If it falls to the left, you can't grip the brake on the handlebar to keep the bike from rolling as you pick it up. It can be done but it's much more difficult. There is a well-known method of picking up a Goldwing (8-900 lbs) that requires little strength. Just for fun I had my 110 lb wife pick mine up a few years ago.
With your back to the bike, you grab the handlebar with one hand and the passenger grab handle with the other, then straighten up and take a couple steps backward. From that position it is easy to lower the kickstand. There are many videos on Youtube showing it done.
I don't know if this would work with a Harley, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

It does, I have done it with a Road King. It's taught to many motor cops. I saw a 5', 100lb woman do it with a Softail Deluxe. There is a well-known method of picking up a Goldwing (8-900 lbs) that requires little strength. Just for fun I had my 110 lb wife pick mine up a few years ago.

Naw, when I get rid of the wing, I'll be looking for something with an open cockpit that will provide a similar feel--nothing will replace that feeling when you lean into a turn on two wheels. When I give up the bikes, I'll get a cool convertible...Have my eyes toward a Sunbeam or a Packard Caribbean.
Spyders and Slingshots aren't motorcycles....But whatever floats yer boat is fine by me.
