What do you LOVE doing?

And....

What don't you love, but know you need?

I am addicted to walking. I love everything about it, especially outdoors, and at basically any time of year. For me the endorphin rush is unmatched. I love walking with friends and chatting, or by myself and getting lost in music. Never a chore for me to walk!

I NEED to add strength training and have gotten better at this. Lately trying to bike a little....man, I'm just not strong. Even biking uphill is a challenge. But I'm definitely an ectomorph and lean toward....well, leanness.

What about you?

Walking, body weight excercises foR strength. Due to health issues with my body joint,s running, bike riding is out.
Swimming in the ocean surf is one of my favorites.

I got my strength back after a long fight with health issues . I followed this regiment for starters to build my muscle strength back.

I've had some health challenges too and so NEVER take my ability to exercise lightly! I'm so grateful.

bench press

although lately I've been finding myself using the chest press machines at the gym instead of the actual barbell and bench.

I can still move very heavy weight on the machine, but you loose all that stabilizer-muscle strength when you switch from free weights to machines

guess I'm just getting old.

My most enjoyable exercise is riding a bike. Of course, the nicer the venue the better it is. Riding from one urban park to another, then another is the best.

teach you want to build muscle strength
I'm old school
I'm older to i know we're pretty close in age. I don't work out as hard as I used to

I still lift , lots of cardio, calisthenics....
I like to stay strong and rock hard

You're a woman you should do Calisthenics. They will help you build muscle strength. You can throw in light weights. You should also get leg weights and arm weights for your walks.

Work on your forearms i always remind people.Don't forget the forearms

Look into your diet.
I also consider Meditation part of it . there are christian meditation books out there for you.

I don't want to hear a cardio are calisthenics of the same thing from anyone
I've heard that argument too many times ....meh....not really

Good idea about leg and arm weights on walks. I do have 5 lbs weights, not much but it's something. Trying to be aware of staying fit so I can be active as I age!

Never too late to start teach.
You can start the calisthenics slow... Incrementally increase your time and how many you can do
Do em all....all the old school ones squats, lunges, crunches, push-ups blah blah blah
It won't take long for you to start feeling stronger.
Tweak your diet see what works for you
You'll start liking how better you feel.. You'll feel stronger and you'll have more energy..

I like to run.

I did some back of envelope calc and I run around the world at the equator 1 1/2 times since I started running for real when I was 14.

I also like weights.

It is hard to keep on muscle with the running, so I eat alot of protein.
