For some reason, my mind keeps going back to the assassination of Charlie Kirk by some asshole who hated free speech. When I first saw it, it was in a video from a raised area above the ground level tent.
I subsequently (but only a fairly short time later) saw a close-up video of the shot to his throat. The image of the blood gushing out so fast and in such volume — as Mr. Kirk slumped and appeared to fall off the chair — remains with me. Ghastly stuff.
And he died, his wife was widowed, his young daughters suffered the loss of their daddy and his TPUSA followers were forever denied his voice all because … he dared to speak in a nation which enshrined freedom of speech in its founding charter.
And some folks, here at USMB, told us we’d very quickly forget this incident.
Well, I don’t believe we will or that we should. And I plan on bringing him up again from time to time because we should all be repulsed by the efforts to forever silence our political opponents. It’s a disgrace.
