Concealed carry holders are under no legal obligation to intervene in the event of a criminal act, but knowing how to increase your odds of surviving such an encounter is something we all should at least give some thought to, in my opinion.
The last item is particularly important. You don't want to survive a mass shooting event only to be shot and killed by the police because they mistakenly took you to be the shooter(s).

We have all heard the mantra “Run Hide Fight” when reviewing how a person is to respond during an active shooter event. However, in these trained responses there is little to no training made available to concealed carriers on what is appropriate action on their part during these overwhelmingly dangerous circumstances. The purpose of this article is to assist concealed carriers (without law enforcement or professional training) by providing guidelines of appropriate and inappropriate responses to keep both themselves and those around them safe.
First and foremost, thank you for taking on the responsibility of being a concealed carrier and shouldering the burdens that such a responsibility demands. It is a natural and universal reaction for everyone to want to feel like they can keep themselves and their loved ones safe, but for some of us that haven’t decided yet on becoming concealed carriers, it might be good to quickly review what such a decision means.
