So what rank is being Gay on the Sin chart?
Seems to me that the "Covet" sin is the big one today according to the 10 Commandments.
Explain to me why being Judgemental of a Sinner when being told "Do not judge or be judged" is a good thing.
I'm all ears.
Luke 17:34-35 teaches that sexually active gays and lesbians are not automatically consigned to perdition.
I tell you, in that
night,
there shall be
two men in one bed;
the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.
Two women shall be grinding together;
the one shall be taken, and the other left.
(Luke 17:34-35, KJV)
“There shall be two women grinding together.” In the Hebrew Bible, “grind” is used as an acceptable
euphemism for sexual intercourse in at least four places: Job 31:10, Judges 16:21, Isaiah 47:2-3, and Lamentations 5:13. I will discuss three of them here. Job uses “grind” as a euphemism for sexual intercourse when he defends himself against his pious accuser-friends.
Grind: Job 31:10
The Book of Job is written in Hebrew poetry. Hebrew poetry does not rhyme, but is written in couplets that are usually parallel thoughts using the same number of words. Job contains these couplets:
If mine heart have been deceived by a woman,
or if I have laid wait at my neighbor’s door;
then let my wife
grind unto another,
and let others bow down upon her. (Job 31: 9-10, KJV)
I think you are reading far too much much into the KJV interpretation of the Bible.. You assume that two men in the same bed are gay and that “two women who are grinding together” are performing a lesbian act. If you had even a rudimentary knowledge of the Bible you would know that homosexuality and lesbianism are condemned in the strongest language imaginable.
First of all, there are often instances where two (or more) men share the same bed or the same foxhole, It is sad you don't know that. There are times when men will huddle together for warmth in survival situations. I remember when I shared a bed with another man and the least of our concerns was sexual intimacy. We both prayed for the same thing: the blessed relief of sleep. Second, the word “grinding” refers to the act of grinding grain. The fact that you thought grinding could only refer to lesbian acts is unforgivable ignorant. Here are several other versions of the Bible that might help you:
“I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left” (NIV).
“I tell you, on that night [when Messiah comes again] there will be two [sleeping] in one bed; the [
i]one (the non-believer) will be taken [away in judgment] and the [
j]other (the believer) will be left. 35 There will be two women grinding [at the mill] together; the [
k]one (the non-believer) will be taken [away in judgment] and the other (the believer) will be left” (Amplified Bible).
"That night there may be two people sleeping in one room. One will be taken and the other will be left. There may be two women working together. One will be taken and the other will be left” (Easy to Read Versions or ERV)
“On that night, I tell you, there will be two people sleeping in the same bed: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind. Two women will be grinding meal together: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.” (Good News Translation).
“That night two men will be asleep in the same room, and one will be taken away, the other left. Two women will be working together at household tasks; one will be taken, the other left; and so it will be with men working side by side in the fields.” (Living Bible or TLB).
“I tell you, on that night two men will be in one bed; the one will be taken and the other will be left. Two women will be grinding grain together; the one will be taken and the other will be left” (Modern English Version or MEV).
“I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left” (New American Standard Bib le or NASB)
“I tell you, on that night two people will be sleeping in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left. There will be two women grinding grain together; one will be taken, and the other will be left” (New Century Version).
CONCLUSION: Your Biblical ignorance is obvious. Your futile attempts to justify homosexuality and lesbianism by your quoted verses demonstrates that you are obsessed with promoting the homosexual/lesbian agenda with total disregard for the truth. Look, I couldn't care less who or how you screw; however when you try to justify/defend your choices based upon deception - especially misquoting the Bible – I care one hell of a lot. For your information I started studying the Bible when I was twelve years old and I am now seventy-eight. There are posters on this site who know the Bible as well or better than I do. You are not in that illustrious group.
I will give you the last word. I have no desire to waste the few precious moments of my life in fruitless debates with those feeble-brained, arrogant blowhards who possess tons of ego and not one damn ounce of integrity or common sense.
