Take a look at the map and tell me what you have to show for the "not stalemate". It's about the size of Kursk region now under control of Ukraine. At this "not stalemate" pace it will take Russia another 3 years to get to Zaparozhie, assuming your entire economy doesn't completely croak in the process.

This is why for 10 years NATO continued to militarize Ukraine and build it up as an invasion touchpoint waiting for an excuse to go into Russia. Negotiations would have been the way out of this.

There was no way it was worth flattening and entire country, an entire people and an entire economy over what issues they pretended to have.

The real issue was that NATO had invested millions in fact billions until Ukrainian military infrastructure and don't want to lose that advantage even though that's exactly what's going to happen.

Washington saw it as a weakness so rather than disbanding NATO, as was promised, look what they did.
