Zone1 What kind of LDS Mormon are you (Utah)?

Live in St. George?
I have family in Torquerville, and in Sundown.
Old missionary companion of mine was mayor of Santa Clara
Live there years ago. I have properties near Desert Springs and Moapa Valley plus elsewhere. I love the desert above LV.

I know Santa Clara, like taking Utah Hill between the rez and Beaver Dam.

There will most likely be a point in your life when you will regret what you were.
Everything I said is commending the Catholic church for it's breaking away from the myths that could no longer be believed.

And now you are threatening me with a bad outcome because you don't know what to believe.

Ironically, we both believe the same about your bibles lies. The difference between us is that I call them lies while you excuse them as not being meant to be literally true.

Movie operates as were they both sanctioned by the LDS religion. The movie is propaganda.

Cut the mormons a bit of slack on their magic underwear for Dog's sake.
Garments are not magic. Garments are a product. Garments are worn in Temples. Since Mormons purchased them, they are simply underwear and some members choose to wear them constantly.

The term Bible is several books. The Jews created the old testament. Leaders of the Jews had a huge role in the new testament since after Jesus was born, they wanted records of his existence to be available. The Book of Mormon is discussed here:

What is the Book of Mormon, and how does it compare to the Bible?

Learn about how we got the Book of Mormon and its connection with the Bible

What is the Book of Mormon about?

The Book of Mormon is a sacred record that Mormons, or Latter-day Saints, consider to be scripture in addition to the Bible (see Bible and Book of Mormon). Its coming forth was an essential part of the history of Mormonism. The Book of Mormon is about the history of two great civilizations of people who lived in the ancient Americas. One of these civilizations immigrated to the Americas from Jerusalem in 600 BC, and the other emigrated from the Near East at a much earlier time (see What is the Book of Mormon video).

The Book of Mormon records portions of these two civilizations’ social and political history. More importantly however, the Book of Mormon is about God’s dealings with these ancient peoples and testifies of God’s love for and mercy toward all His children. Mormons believe that the Book of Mormon contains the fulness of Jesus Christ’s gospel (see Joseph Smith—History 1:34). The greatest event recorded in the book is the account of Jesus Christ’s visit to the Americas after His death and Resurrection.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Latter-day Saints believe that the Book of Mormon contains portions of records written by many ancient prophets (see “A Brief Explanation about the Book of Mormon”). These prophets engraved their records on golden plates. Their records were compiled and abridged into a more concise record by a prophet-historian named Mormon. The Book of Mormon bears his name. After Mormon’s death, his son, Moroni, completed the record and buried the plates to protect them.

they are not from the heavens anything those religions claim they have - they are not justifiable.

they are from the liar moses copies are written by others ... you have not given an explanation for moses destroying the original stones before they were read by anyone - those are what would be inspiration from the heavens contrary to every commandment claimed, written by the false desert religions.

no such commandment was ever made from the heavens having no relevancy for admission to the everlasting - is a false endearment moses chose for himself and the religion of judaism ...

etc etc etc ....
Study the words of people who died with a doctor and nurses close to them. They tell about GOD. Even the Muslims accept that GOD exists.

For the balance of humanity, simply put your mind around this. There is absolutely nothing that exists. The time might span days, years or millions of some time span you want to use.

From nothing, evidence of something shows up. We believe that GOD created it all. As to humans, they showed up later and we don't want to downgrade them to monkeys so we respect them as human beings.

Im a practicing Mormon that grew up in Utah. Joseph Smith definitely practiced plural marriage
There have been break off groups that still try and practice it My dad was a high Mormon Church official and he would get letters from Church headquarters of certain people practicing plural marriage in our area to excommunicate
There once was a pamphlet written by Joseph Fielding Smith it was called, The Origin of Plural Marriage and Blood Atonement. In there he gave eye witness accounts of his family and his great uncle Joseph practicing plural marriage

heres a quote from the pamphet by JFS himself
THE UTAH VISIT.

In connection with this, let me call your attention to
your visit to Salt Lake City some three years ago. At that
time you met President Lorenzo Snow, a man whose veracity
cannot justly be questioned; you heard him bear his testi-
mony to the effect that he was taught that principle by the
Prophet Joseph Smith, and that the Prophet declared to
Lorenzo Snow that he had married his sister, Eliza R. Snow.
You met and conversed with Lucy Walker Smith, and she
told you that she was married to the Prophet Joseph Smith on
the first day of May, 1843, in Nauvoo, Elder William Clayton
performing the ceremony. You met Gatherine Phillips Smith,
who told you she was married in August, 1843, in Nauvoo,
to the Patriarch Hyrum Smith, his brother Joseph the Prophet
officiating in that ceremony. You will remember that the
first wives of both these men were living at the time. I hardly
think these testimonies have passed from your memory in so
brief a time. I am personally acquainted with these women,
and know that they are truthful and honest — honorable
women, whose testimonies should be believed.
I don't go to our LDS church but when I lived in Fremont, CA over 5 years back, I did attend church every week. We need not discuss why in Idaho I stopped going because that is only my individual choice. Frankly I grew up going to church and my family is LDS to a large part. I said I did not recall Joseph Smith having more wives but it was just because I have not talked about him for eons.

I went to my LDS information we members have access to and found he did marry other women while still married.

Most think Polygamy then was illegal. They need to study history. Nationally for Utah to be a state rather than a territory, UTAH plus the church ended polygamy. Some say yes, what about the Fundamentalists. I have worked on building homes in Utah where one of the crew was one of them. I frankly did not talk about it to him. I have not met one in order to get to why they practice polygamy knowing for a fact that the True church abandoned that about 145 years back.

Hard pass.

When that day comes, think of me.

I had a guy in my ward who married his wifes sister and performed the marriage himself. LOL There's a joke about an 8 second ride. But I aint repeating here

From nothing, evidence of something shows up. We believe that GOD created it all.

that is the least rational conclusion for all that is - more a matter of particles of finite density ...

monotheism in fact is no different for the creation of the universe than any other - what are issues are those claimed by others to have heavenly personification where non has ever existed, the three desert bibles.

My first wife was raised to be catholic. Our marriage was conducted in my then local ward. She and I never fought over her not being a Mormon. Our oldest son is also a Mormon. We did good. We lasted 13 years and she filed for her divorce from me. My final wife who I married around 20 years after the divorce also filed for divorce about 3 years into that marriage. I knew she had her church elders of Jehovah's witness try to get me away from being LDS but nothing they said changed my mind.
I believe in attending church. I believe the Mormons are the best of all church to attend. I have other reasons for not attending my local ward. But it is not that the church is wrong. IT is totally right.

How can you believe that creations have eternal life?

dang i had to milk holsteins ever day after school
Kept me off the golf team. So you can imagine how I feel about holsteins.
I have never milked any animal. You live about 168 miles to my East. Meridian is my location.

I text every day to a friend in Meridian.
He tells me how when he goes to church all the BSU fans that hate BYU.
I have a long time history of favoring BYU but since moving to Meridian in 2019 find I also favor BSU. I was not pleased for Penn State to beat Boise U. Heck, I was hoping Oregon could beat Ohio State again.
