Two issues: 1. I am a CA LDS but my stepfather was born and grew up in Utah.Robert W dropped the other day that he is Utah LDS but with a twist. He does not believe that Joseph Smith practiced polygamy. (Robert W, is this right? Correct me if I am wrong).
And a great majority of divorcees marry again and again. The great majority of LDS are not polygamists.
Same sex marriage is legal (by SCOTUS!)Two issues: 1. I am a CA LDS but my stepfather was born and grew up in Utah.
2. Did Joseph Smith marry more than one woman?
Frankly all of my life i learned of this on the forum here. None of our church meetings talks about this topic and Joseph Smith. Seems those not in the Church love it as their topic. So let's suppose he did marry some women. For the life of me what does it matter? Polygamy when he lived was still legal in the USA. It was a constitution change that outlawed it.
For some unholy reason this has become a modern topic.
But let's talk also about men marrying men or women marrying women!!!
That is a current topic and for the love of God I can't explain the validity of that.
There is far more strangeness in that than a man having other wives since he would have married them. We know this does produce children which is quite natural yet male to male or female to female marriages make no sense whatsoever.
Arabs do it all the time, polygamy.
