Yup there is a lot more to this whole thing than just Maduro.

The petro dollar was on the verge of collapse. Such a crash would destroy our economy and probably lead to a war.

President Trump probably saved us from a very dire outcome….or at the very least push it back some.

I so thank you for this accurate and encouraging comment theHawk. Based on the articles and lectures that I have listened to by CIA economist Jim Rickards, especially since 2014, I got the impression that China was a far more worthy opponent for the role of world's number one economic and military super power than they were being given credit for.

Mr. Jim Rickards seemed to be one of the only voices who warned us of how serious of a threat China led by Xi really posed for the United States and all of your allies.

Venezuela's oil is actually more expensive to extract than even Shale lmfaoooo, meaning there is virtually no economic benefit to US oil corporations as it stands.

So, it's not about the US taking Venezuela’s oil—US firms don’t want it and the state can’t manage it.
It is about stopping Venezuela from rapidly developing its oil and becoming a prosperous, sovereign country in the US’s backyard.

Well Dennis, you probably also believe we in the US and you in Canada live under democratic governments...

There was a time when all humans also believed the planet they lived on was the center of the universe. People happily believe fictions. It's part of the human condition.
