Zone1 What Is Your Vision For America

I don't have a vision 'for' America. I have a vision 'of' America.

America has played out its purpose. I see nothing but civil war on the horizon.

The divisions are too great to overcome. The racial issues are too great to overcome.

Nothing but chaos and war on the horizon.

I believe God's purpose for America has been fulfilled. It was a sanctuary nation for the oppressed, for the Jews and the Christians to live in peace and for the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

My opinion.

There is no god. America's purpose is to bee the leader of rationality and human logic. Human logic that will lead humanity towards better and higher standards of life. A leader of human democracy and thought.

The idea that god is defining anything is a joke.

so why can't they do this Quantrill .....? ~S~

Because America has changed the very fabric of the nation. Instead of white European Christian immigrants, we have flooded the country with minority peoples who bring every other political thinking over with them as well as every other religious belief.

And then we wonder how a Muslim is now mayor of New York.

And all the while stupid American whites sit and watch and approve what a wonderful thing it is, as their legs are being sawed off underneath them.

America has left God who established it.

National suicide.

Yet God established America as a Christian nation.

Now that it is becoming more atheistic, like yourself, it turns to shit. What a coincidence.

I still have a vision of the US as ever I have had since I was a kid; The Shining City on the Hill.

Since the end of the Cold War the US has perhaps shone as brightly at times but now it is Shining brighter than ever.

America is dead.

Both left and right has lost all respect for reality and fully embraced skepticism and both sides lack proper principles and offer no positive values - the right takes the opposite position of the left for the sake of it and vice versa.

No one is advocating life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

meaning capitalism ?

Yes, that naturally follows if said ideas are applied properly. But, these days Maga followers believe trade is a zero sum game and nearly 50% of Conservatives - according to a recent poll - think socialism is a good idea.

In early 2024, I started a thread saying I thought MAGA was just a sales pitch or rallying cry. Nothing in that so-called "discussion" changed my mind.

I am thinking about resurrecting the thread to kane those who continue to say "It's obvious." No it isn't. Far from it. And right now, it's even less obvious.

But, this thread is about vision, a vision for America. It can be couched in different aspects.

As is supposed to happen, I get three rules:

1. No bashing anyone else. You can certainly disagree, but no starting with...."The demos are idiots".
2. If you don't agree that something is a good component of a vision, you may speak on the suggestion. Leave the poster alone.
3. If you have something specific, be specific. (i.e balanced budget.....means we take in more than we spend..simple test).

And here we go:

A component of my vision of America is that we reduce all federal legislation to only those things that are consistent with the Constitution. That means a great many things need to be transfered to the states.

A component of my vision is that the federal government can only spend 10% of GDP (currently in the 22 to 25% range). If states want something, it is up to them to secure it and raise taxes or shift money accordingly.

A component of my vision is that we repeal the 17th amendment and go back to having the senate be appointed by the state legislatures. The states are currently not represented in congress as was intended by the framers.

Lookin forward to your high I.Q. challenges or suggestions.

Bub, I got no crystal ball. But this is my vision...

I actually attack the concept of happiness. The idea that—I don’t mind people being happy—but the idea that everything we do is part of the pursuit of happiness seems to me a really dangerous idea and has led to a contemporary disease in Western society, which is fear of sadness. It’s a really odd thing that we’re now seeing people saying “write down three things that made you happy today before you go to sleep” and “cheer up” and “happiness is our birthright” and so on. We’re kind of teaching our kids that happiness is the default position. It’s rubbish. Wholeness is what we ought to be striving for and part of that is sadness, disappointment, frustration, failure; all of those things which make us who we are. Happiness and victory and fulfillment are nice little things that also happen to us, but they don’t teach us much. Everyone says we grow through pain and then as soon as they experience pain they say, “Quick! Move on! Cheer up!” I’d like just for a year to have a moratorium on the word “happiness” and to replace it with the word “wholeness.” Ask yourself, “Is this contributing to my wholeness?” and if you’re having a bad day, it is. ~Hugh Mackay

How does one deal with a bankrupt nation?

We raid China at midnight, and take Xi Jinping hostage holding him for 100 trillion in ransom and a cancellation of all our debt.

Agreed not being applied properly lends itself to the socialist delusion Trick.......these folks need to learn to do the math.....~S~

The issue is that words’ meaning change over time. “Happiness” doesn’t mean in the constitution what woke leftists think it does… but all this requires a desire for knowledge, which doesn’t much exist in our modern scroll/shock culture. Getting triggered/angry is easier to incite and is a stronger drug. Why discuss the complexities of an issue and agree on certain aspects when you can just gaslight, troll, and rage bait?

We do what we can with what we have, without casual assumptions of free energy, free money, or any variation of some solution that must arrive later because we want it and don't want the consequences of our actions. We won't have a deus ex machina to bail us out. There are some basics that seem probable:

Much less federal government. Some of that power and responsibility will shift back to states and communities, and more will be just dropped as something we can't afford anymore. Local government will get more attention. City council meetings will have more crowds of concerned citizens, not just retirees complaining about everything.

Healthcare becomes more directly doctor and patient, without corporate insurance or bureaucracy. The entire healthcare industry will be forced to cut unnecessary expenses and provide affordable services, or erase itself as people seek alternative healthcare. But that may still be too late. Trust in doctors may be too far gone. Alternative healthcare may rise and take the whole market.

The suburbs are demolished and replanted as farmland. We won't have fossil fuel to drive everywhere. We won't have fossil fuel to run farm machines. Farming will be all human and animal labor. Unemployment becomes a nonissue as most of the nation becomes farmers, ranchers, and herders.
